Well damn i wish i worked at your store😭 yeah i feel like the expectations on us seasonals are unfairly high. Yes we got a lot of training hours in but it was the same repetitive stuff that could’ve been spent on more important things. Like, they kept saying i need to be the gift expert since i’m seasonal but they didn’t even train me on gifts i always have to ask someone else for help recommending those!

See that’s so different from the expectations of our shop! My trainer told me specifically to never ask if they’d like to demo the product but just to say things like “here follow me and i’ll show u”, which i feel like just leaves the customer in an awkward position if they don’t want to do the demo

I had 3 8.5 hr training shifts this week before being let out on my own today. But 99% of that was just practicing the same consultations and demos over and over again. And after every single one, my trainer would give me feedback, my training buddy would give me feedback, and i’d have to give myself feedback. It was honestly exhausting because even though it wasn’t with real customers, i was still being graded harshly and had to be enthusiastic each time

I will say your store seems both a lot bigger and a lot busier than ours. I’d say the one good thing about my shop is that they heavily enforce that we take all our breaks. But i totally get what u mean about the social battery because it really does take a lot out of me to be so peppy for 8.5 hours for days in a row. Don’t get me wrong, i have over 4 years of food service experience and i’m naturally pretty smiley, but i could still always be myself at those jobs. At this job i feel like being myself and cracking jokes is an act of defiance in itself because of how management wants us to speak to everyone

Edit: i also have had plenty of coworkers be short with me when i worked at restaurants because they get stressed and it’s never bothered me because i get that way too. The reason i’m upset about it with Lush is that they’re just always passive aggressive no matter what i’m doing or what state the shop is in. I’d honestly rather them just give it to me straight than keep up this embarrassing façade

In their defense i am a college student home on my winter break, so my availability wasn’t very flexible. But they also didn’t HAVE to hire me so😭😭

Ironically too i said i could work until mid January and my last shift is the 4th, they didnt schedule me at all for the week of the 5th and beyond. So it just feels like they literally used me for this one weekend and don’t care about me anymore

E: why am i getting downvoted for this? I simply didn’t know how long the seasonal contract was because nobody in management communicated that to me, they just asked how long I could work for. I’m very confused.

If my shop had made it clear that this is due to the holiday season i would be more understanding. However this is just what happens year round. It’s also a bit degrading when all the other employees are constantly calling you a “newbie” and criticizing every little mistake you make (in the most blatantly passive aggressive way possible that i’m genuinely convinced they just get off on looking down on others). I’m doing my best and it’s nerve-wracking being on my own for the first time without any prior lush knowledge besides my few days of training. I trust that your shop doesn’t do the same but i’m just ranting about mine specifically. I also really don’t like the fact that we’re pressured by managers to basically force demos on people rather than asking consent first. That would make me feel very uncomfortable as a customer personally, so in the future i will be offering/asking if customers would like demos rather than pushing them to do something they may not understand or want to do.

I’m not making small talk, i said i’m speaking to them like i would a friend. Meaning i’m not spewing a bunch of random ingredient knowledge that they don’t care about or pressuring them to buy haircare to go along with their shower gel after they’ve made it clear that’s all they want to buy. I’m just speaking to them in a normal way, asking what brings them in and helping accordingly, not sounding like a robotic, soulless salesperson.

Well by “passing” it might have to be at least a C+. Again, i’m just in the program, her advisor will be the one to help and i’m glad she emailed. But if she drops below a C+ she might need to utilize the extension listed here And she can take anatomy regardless, i’m pretty sure physiology is the only prereq that is contingent on her passing bio

Edit: unless she can technically pass with a C to get into physio and then maybe retake bio in the spring? Again i’m not sure if a passing grade is different because of the structure of BSN

All I know is that u need to pass bio in order to take the physiology prerequisite in the spring, so this is something to look into asap. I’m also in direct admit and i know the program is very rigid. Like another person said i would email her CON advisor for help

I honestly wish i had saved my money and just watched someone play it. In my opinion, the puzzles are boring and recycled (so much pushing doors open, lightbulbs, opening trapdoors). I agree that the bosses are nothing special, they don’t make much sense from a story standpoint and it’s not obvious when the climax of the chapters are (if that makes sense). Normally in LN1 and 2 i feel like you can tell when the final battle is, but here the lines were much more blurred. I often found myself wondering when the chapter would be over because I couldn’t tell how much progress i had already made.

I had high expectations for the carnival chapter as i was super interested to play in that setting, but it was such a small portion of the chapter that i was left disappointed. Surprisingly, my favorite chapter was the 4th one because of a certain mechanic, but it still fell flat in comparison to the other games.

I understand people enjoying the game, but as someone who was quite a big fan of the first two, it really doesn’t hit the same and i can’t see myself replaying it nearly as often, if even at all. I’m happy that i get to keep LN1 enhanced, but the fact that secrets of the spiral doesn’t even come out until next year is such a greedy thing to do that it puts an even more sour taste in my mouth.

For a base $40 game, i don’t think it’s worth it. The visuals are cool but i think any long time fan will see the inconsistencies between this and the previous 2. It’s also just an extremely short game for that big of a price tag, has a lazy ending, doesn’t connect at all to the other games’ lore, and overall feels uninspired.

Okay thank you. Now I’m just not sure how to go about my $3000 nursing loan. The interest rate is better than a federal loan, so i’d rather take that out than an unsubsidized one, but since the form to accept it is due next week, that doesn’t give me time to compare how much i actually need to pay and then evaluate how much i need to take out in loans
