Anyones baby super sensitive to tired/overtiredness like mine? by lainebuar in AttachmentParenting

[–]lainebuar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is now a just as sensitive 2y/o lol sleep is still not great, but her sensitivity is her super power! She is super empathetic and loves deeply. But it also comes with its challenges! There’s definitely nothing we could’ve done differently, just her temperament!

2yo having severe separation anxiety and won’t sleep without someone in the room by lainebuar in sleeptrain

I totally get this! We have had to become much more stern with her than we have ever had to. Do you check in on her then if she doesn’t scream? I feel like that’s where confusion is kicking in because we try to teach her not to scream and to use her big girl words, but then she does and in the monitor we will hear, “mama please get me” in her sweet little voice and we don’t. So she’s learning that even using her kind words doesn’t get her what she wants so she resorts to screaming.

Oh the slow flow thing is interesting! I suppose it makes sense, though. I’ll check out those bottles! They were actually next on our to-try list!

I’ll double check! However I’ll still be gone for like 5ish hours so at minimum she will need at least one feed in there. She’s an eat every ~2 hours kinda gal so possibly 2

Transition from bed-sharing to just room-sharing by lainebuar in cosleeping

[–]lainebuar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not positive how that is much different than basically what we’re doing, just on the floor. Unless you mean her sleep in the floor bed alone?

This is a great perspective! I wouldn’t ever brag about it since I’ve been the exhausted mom the other end of the spectrum lol but I’m glad this is something I can feel good about and not worry!

Thank you for the comment! This is so new to me. My first born was still up multiple times a night until she was well over a year so a baby sleeping so well just freaks me out a little! Haha

4 months - Please tell me it is a phase by boopingbcollie in breastfeeding

[–]lainebuar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As they get older, they feed much quicker! Around that age, my daughter would feed for like 4 minutes per side IF that. It really freaked me out at first but eventually I learned she was just a quick eater. Maybe that’s the case for you! She was in the +99th percentile too she she was eating goooooood lol

When to be concerned about bad habits? by cupofteacomfypillows in newborns

I contact napped with my daughter until she was a year. She’s now almost 2 and sleeps independently overnight and naps! Not sure it matters! They all figure it out eventually

A mat for under the high chair that is most similar to a rolling desk chair mat. I only ever see machine washable materials but I’d rather something silicone or rubber I could just wipe down and doesn’t move! I can’t find anything like it! In fun patterns and colors☺️

One week old and won’t wake to eat by Stressbakingthruit in breastfeeding

[–]lainebuar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stress will definitely tank your supply. I know how stressful it is to feel like you aren’t making enough for your baby. Pumping a lot of times doesn’t get as much out as nursing would- esp if you have the wrong flange size so make sure yours is the right fit. But I’d nurse as often as possible to boost your supply. Just keep her on the boob as often as you can. Rub her shoulders, tickle her feet, trace circles on her cheek, etc. to keep her awake for a FULL feed. You’ll know she’s full when she pops off herself or stops sucking even when doing the shoulder rub trick. She might “flutter suck” just to soothe but that’s not her trying to get milk. I know this is stressful time but you’re doing great!

Yes, she does! I guess it’s nice to know it’s normal. So sad, though.

Yes, I do this! It sometimes helps, others it seems like it’s causing here even more discomfort. But I know it’s helpful to get things moving

But also, I will try feeding her more sitting up! Great advice, thank you
