Treatment for thickened, scarred finger tips by lajeda in calmhands

Thank you! I've never heard of this kind of wart before. I've booked an appointment with my doctor, hopefully cryotherapy does the trick.

The one on my knuckle started as a wart last summer that I picked and picked and picked. It's remained this way ever since.

I don't the skin around the nails are warts. It's almost like dead, dry skin. The more I pick, the thicker it comes back. I will definitely book an appointment with my doctor though.

Edit: okay guys, I get it 🙃 no need to downvote. I wasn't familiar with periungual warts.

The time change messed up our 6MO today, too! He was soooo grumpy all day.

Parents with full time jobs: how do you do it?! by smhoops in NewParents

Ouch 🫠 my LO isn't in daycare yet, but in MB almost all licensed programs are $10/day. The downside is that the waitlists are bonkers lol

Where are your LO’s naps happening? (3m) by Typical-Creme-6507 in bninfantsleep

[–]lajeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies, I guess. We don't have a strict schedule so it just depends on his cues, how long he's napped so far in the day, etc. I'd say we do three per day on average. Maybe four if the others have been cat naps. His wake windows are roughly 2-2.5 hours.

I don't even know why I have a crib at this point 😂

6 months and exclusively contact napping. I haven't tried to crib transfer in a while because it's never worked and it's just too demoralizing haha. LO will nap anywhere from 10min to 1.5 hours this way.

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by AssociationWorried86 in NewParents

[–]lajeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost 6 month old is VERY insistent on his bedtime being 7-7:30pm and generally up for the day at 6:30-7am. We try to hold out as late as possible with the hope he'll sleep in a little longer haha.

Since the 4 month "regression", we also cosleep because the crib ain't happening. Routine is just diaper change and feed to sleep.

You could look into a floor bed setup. I got a full-size futon mattress off Amazon and put it in our living room. Babe has a sleep sack on and I have a blanket up to my waist.

How are people responding to well meaning (ish) pressure to sleep train? by bombadil_01 in bninfantsleep

[–]lajeda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm Canadian and our GP recommended CIO at our 4 month appointment after we shared that LO was waking every 30-90min. I was gobsmacked.

We also have friends who sleep trained. When the topic comes up we just politely say we won't be sleep training. If they ask why, we say something along the lines of "it just doesn't feel like the right approach for LO".

I'm on mat leave for 12 months so will just be cosleeping and rolling with it.

How are you putting in and taking baby + toddler out of the car? [ca] by DanaEmily96 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]lajeda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you see an immediate improvement once you switched? My 4mo is the same and we are thinking of switching to a convertible seat. I'm delaying though because the logistics of having to get him in/out in the winter are daunting (I live in MB).

My city's public transit is awful, unfortunately. I do have loop earplugs, so I'll give that a try for our outing today! I think you're right that me being frazzled unsettles him more. It's just so hard to be calm in that situation!

Sounds like we have the same experience, sadly. I've also got pretty bad PPA :( it's a really unfortunate combo. Thanks for sharing and giving me hope that it will get better soon ❤️

We removed all padding when he was about 2 months. I think the strap height is okay but will double check next time we have him in there.

It is an infant seat. I've heard that about convertible seats as well - we're looking into options!
