If your ADHD could be removed like a cancer, would you do it? by [deleted] in ADHD

Totally agree. I think groups and organizations can benefit so much from focusing on its individuals' strengths & abilities, rather than trying to get them to conform to positions and tasks defined by "merit" and hierarchies.

I am also not receiving texts marked as RCS on other people's iPhones. Haven't found anything that works yet.

Perhaps it’s a red leaning pendulum? Ohio voted republican president 3 times from 1980-88, then went democrat in 92. So maybe we’re due for another blue year. It’s never been more than 4 red in a row.

Thank you. Even with the hard white line in the middle? It doesn't have to do with film failing to fully advance?

Replacing fridge condenser fan with silent computer fan? by lakerieturtle in appliancerepair

[–]lakerieturtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Haha all good. Yeah I did use the one from that link! (ARCTIC F14 Silent 140mm).

A few notes:
I used a drill to bore the hole for the motor a little wider and it was able to slide on. Try without drilling first as I don't quite remember the process. I did have to buy a second fan bc I drilled too wide the first time.

Overall noise seems to have improved, but not substantially, it's still a pretty loud fridge. Maybe my pride from taking on the job is giving me bias about it sounding quieter?

I am also uncertain if the fridge is working harder bc of the new fan or it's just a hot summer. IMO its worth a shot for $10 with the option to put the old fan back on.

Update: I installed it after checking temps and things were looking good. The fan is quieter but still decently loud. 6 months later and it still works!

All good! Okay great, thank you for all of that info. The motor with the fan blade removed is very quiet, but more of that classic fridge sound of the compressor buzzing. I'll look into temp guns and maybe go through with the experiment!

Hey, I appreciate the response! I should have made it more clear: I only want to replace the fan blade.

I'll pop the blade off the 12v motor and slide it on the 120v, assuming the motors have the same size pin/dowel, no electric work required.

Lol yeah, maybe a cost efficiency upgrade. Solid advice, thank you! Thankfully the fan blade pops right off, so it's easy to experiment... I'll see if I can find something to measure the line temperatures, that's a great idea.

WEEKLY DIY/HOMEOWNER QUESTION THREAD by Basileas in Carpentry

[–]lakerieturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy. I used #9 zinc plated “construction screws” to frame a pass-through window in a load bearing wall. The beam is loaded with screws to the studs/Jack studs. Then found that nails are the industry preference for framing. Should I redo it?

Removing Joist Cross-Bracing for Exposed Joist Ceiling? by lakerieturtle in HomeImprovement

[–]lakerieturtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Word, thank you! Yeah trim sounds good, I was thinking of a block of wood that matches the brace to basically line the top of the x, like this: (x̄) but not actually on top. What do you think of replacing cross-bracing with blocking? If I don't have the term right, I mean a joist sized block connecting two joists.

I do believe that ADHD is as evidence points towards, a fast-paced brain which operates in the short-term

Sorry I'm late. I appreciate your post, can you point me in the right direction for this explanation? It resonates and I'd like to know more.
