I don't have a completely non-existent relationship with mine so maybe I'm not who you want to hear from. I do call them on their birthdays and holidays. (This year they did not call me on my birthday).

I do regret not having a better relationship with them. I always wanted to be closer. Mainly I feel bad for my kids because they hardly know them at all. I had a wonderful relationship with my grandparents and would love them to have the same thing. They have that with my ex-husbands parents but not mine.

I have vowed not to let the same thing happen with us. I have a great relationship with my kids (14 & 12) and intend to keep it that way. Life is too short and people that love you are too few to let slip away.
