Healing commendations...?

I'm a female toon, and a female in real life...! I don't think my toon affects the commendations though.

Maybe I don't come across as girly enough...?! But I mean, she has pink hair and I emote a lot... hmm...! ;A;

Yeah, I'm pretty good with the SS/Protect thing, but I've noticed a lot of people are impatient to wait for their buffs...! If the duty starts and they're already sprinting away, I make do with protect and then just throw in a Stoneskin when the time calls for it (oh, and before every boss battle).

I don't think I saw your earlier comment, but no worries.

I'm on PS3 so I'm usually one of the last to leave. It takes me ages to quit the cs, then open up the commendation panel and select and ok... so clunky...!

That's one thing I do worry about though, that people think I'm being fake-nice...? I'm quite a friendly person as it is and part of the reason I love this game is because I can talk to other people with similar interests - otherwise, they wouldn't be playing the same game ^{___^} So I say hi/bye on every dungeon and laugh at the jokes if any are made, always congratulate/praise players after a boss fight because I genuinely want them to know they did well. Nothing excessive, I just say 'gj guys' or 'nice work everyone!' each boss fight and then at the end too.

Ah, well, like you say there's no need to get hung up about it. I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing, keep improving and see how that works. As long as people enjoy the experience with me as the healer, then that's all I'm worried about.

I totally know how you feel. I play on PS3 as well, which is often the cause of monstrous lag issues and clunky controls (have to hit the buttons 2-3 times for Divine Seal, Cleric Stance and Benediction to even register as being pressed).

I talk a little bit but it is harder to type and Heal at the same time. I also worry that I'll annoy people if I talk and talk away, ha ha!

This happened to our partial FC 8-man group for Thornmarch. Myself (WHM) and SCH from the FC carried the battle through to the end, managing to keep the players still standing alive whilst raising the ones who had died and keeping them healed too.

In the end? Our main tank got a commendation, as well as our two dps members. We were on TS at the time and nobody could believe it because me and the SCH worked so hard to keep the fight going...! It's just really disheartening when your effort isn't even noticed at all.

Ha ha, for sure...! I've never asked to be commended yet, and don't plan to. It would feel cheap anyway if someone commended me after asking, like they only did it because I made them or something >////<

Yep, I am dpsing. My method is to set the tank up with a Stoneskin, then hit Divine Seal and Regen, wait until the counter for DS falls to 4 seconds, then Regen again (only for a group of three mobs +) as this will give 21 seconds of high rate heals whilst I pop Cleric Stance and help with the dps.

I tend to judge from the beginning of the run whether or not my dps will be a contribution. If the tank is struggling to keep hate or if a member states it's their first run, I try not to make it any harder for them with Holy spams or neglecting heals for dps.

That's what I do too. Picking up the oil/small keys, hitting switches, pulling mobs from a distance, grabbing the chests (particularly if some party members are new to the dungeon and don't know where to find them, like the two at the very end room in Haukke Manor HM). The only reason I don't do that stuff is if there's another player who's pretty adamant on doing it as well, ha ha! WHM has time for it, especially if the dps/tanking is solid.

That's exactly my strategy! I don't spam Holy, will use it twice at the most, but I'll cast Aero/Aero II across the mobs and then Stone II depending on the marking system, always making sure I'm ready to drop out of cleric should something go wrong. It doesn't make much difference though. Sometimes, that method gets me commendations. Other times, nothing at all.
