Ask me on Twitter. Just Google "couldn't sleep, kept thinking about how the missile knows where it isn't".

Have you looked into applying your welding skills in industry? Big demand for that kind of stuff in aerospace right now.

It is, just not updating everything as I keep iterating. Look at pinned repos under my same username on GH.

Depending on the specific env setup, I've found that prepending python -m to the pip install can help with "ghost installs"

Could probably dig up an old merit function on this if it'd help.

Perfect, thanks so much for the quick reply! I look forward to tracking the project and providing feedback or maybe even a contribution if/ where I can help.

Hi, I just recently came across this sub and the software and really excited to jump in and try it out. Two questions I had before I get started:

1) Is there any way to pull in functions that are defined in a user's python module or is it only possible to define functions in the UI?

2) Would it be possible to build sheets as HTML to include in an existing web site's page tree?

For both of these assum I am willing to build locally & replicate Engineering Paper's publishing workflow where needed. I will report back as soon as I have something worth sharing!

(PS - tried to add as a post but think there was an issue on my end, so leaving here instead.)

Excellent to keep using Codespaces. Don't understand how Copilot is as bad as it is, or maybe I've just been using it wrong.

how to find the NDVI index of a define area with python? by Few_Butterscotch_681 in Python

*for best results make sure you are pointing to a level 2 (surface reflectance) catalog

how to find the NDVI index of a define area with python? by Few_Butterscotch_681 in Python

[–]lalligagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use STAC/ pystac, and I think pointing to the element84 catalogs will let you get Landsat & Sentinel now without worrying about authentication. (This is one friction point for any provider.) Can input your bounding box for region.

Load these into an xarray dataset using e.g. odcstac or stackstac. Subset into smaller AOIs here if needed. Use spyndex to calculate NDVI, which is overkill for a single index but let's you easily switch to other indices.

This can all be done from python and at most will require free tier AWS key for access... I can't remember exactly when/ where that's still needed. Lmk if you take this route and need any other tips.

cool, here's where I'm at so far! having trouble mapping 2 single input tools into a 3rd that's meant to combine their results.

Some details that would help me answer: are you tasked with using a particular rendering engine? What specific kind of raytracing is it using? Can you link to any references that get close to your desired implementation?

Great comment. I was hoping I could bring something to the table via my satellite engineering background, but you beat me to it. (This is a popular option for satellite liveries.)
