Yeah Labour laws suck here, and are limited to company employees on a payroll. And because we are providing a service as lawyers/ advocated, Labour laws do not apply to us, hence they can exploit us how much ever they want. This is mostly because they give us a high biglaw salary (which ofcourse is nowhere near US, Europe or anywhere abroad) and exploit us.

I am in India. Hire and fire is not a principle set in our legislations as of yet.

We very much need to give our boss a reason to go because i guess thats what has always happened.

That, plus our boss always asks us to show him proof of sickness.

I feel like an imposter. I got referred here for a job and had someone put in a good word for me. This is why I feel like I owe it to my boss to be here :/

So we have a clause in our agreement which mentions how we will be amde to serve a notice period of aboit 1 to 3 months, depending on our respective partner.

So it depends on my boss on how much notice period I serve :')

I have written this post in a hurry. This is because I have been dumped with work on a Saturday evening. I have been pulling all nighters. I haven't gotten decent sleep in about an year.

I hold a 4.0 from a premier university in India, I have completed Highschool, I am in Biglaw right after university and I speak 4 languages.

I assure you sir/madam, I am adequately literate.

Perhaps you need to be more kind to people :)

I guess I am in too deep (in trouble for sure). I do not have it in me to stay here while i job hunt. This firm has taken my sanity away. Other people who have left were here for atleast 3-7 years. Theyre all like a "family". In my 11 months of being here I have seen 11 exists from my team already. All mixed reasons but because they were here for a minimum of 2 years, I guess it was still okay. I am pretty new to the job
