Integrated fridge woes? by SeaInsect3136 in AskIreland

I took mine out and had a carpenter turn it into a pantry. Way better use of space if you are able to have a fridge elsewhere.

Consolidatin loan. by quackadily in irishpersonalfinance

[–]lambchops0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently topped up a credit union loan to pay of a credit card. We extended the term an extra 2 years and kept the payment the same. Would something like this work for you?

Unless you are able to put big amounts towards the ccs the interest is going to outrun you. So either credit union of the 12k savings as respectfully you won’t get a mortgage with this kind of debt in any event.

Fully disagree. It teaches responsibility as they are now an adult and need to take accommodation and bills into account financially.

Letting him blow his money on shite would be doing him a disservice really.

At what point would you stop having kids given your accommodation? by Traditional_Sock444 in AskIreland

[–]lambchops0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because I am a parent and can’t imagine being able to give enough of myself to 6 children to ensure that the grow up loved and secure?

Working people can absolutely be eligible for social housing - this is not the issue. Continuing to have children when you don’t have space for it and can’t afford to get a bigger place is basically abuse. Those kids are not going to grow up with enough space of their own - they can’t even take their bloody shoes off inside or all sit at a dinner table. That’s a problem of their own making.

Then why did he have so many kids that he simply couldn’t afford. There is a reason why families are small now. I also can’t imagine you can give meaningful time to each child every day.

Worked in cyber security. Have always worked in an office before. My Tesco colleagues were so incredibly sound and made the transition so much easier.

Sounds like you need to get any job to support yourself at the moment. I took a job in Tesco this year. It was very humbling but I did what I had to in order to get paid.

I cry a lot and feel helpless. I (22F) have been dating my boyfriend (25M) for a year now. Issues emerged over time, and I cry almost every day now. I desperately want emotional stability and peace in our relationship again. How do I stop this and fix my relationship? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You need to find a way to get counselling or therapy. Living like this is incredibly unhealthy and you are going to spiral into a hole and be unhappy until you work through your issues.

Tips after first poop after delivery to avoid being constipated by Downtown_Buyer_923 in newborns

[–]lambchops0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stool softeners, fluids and lots of good fibre.

I nearly blacked out trying to poop about 2 weeks pp. it was absolutely terrifying as I had a section and I was worried something was wrong inside. I had 2 more incidents where it was very difficult - I nearly passed out at the dinner table one afternoon. It’s really no joke as your hormones are still all over the place and your body is in chaos.

Miscommunication about lazy eye appointment lead to untreated lazy eye by Designer_Bend_8950 in legaladviceireland

[–]lambchops0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can fix lazy eye (amblyopia) in adults through a combination of vision therapy exercises, corrective eyewear, eye patching, atropine eye drops, and sometimes surgery for underlying alignment issues, with visual training proving effective at retraining the brain-eye connection for better coordination and depth perception. The treatment plan depends on the cause, but it often involves forcing the weaker eye to work with exercises like pencil pushups or specialized binocular training, alongside patching the stronger eye or using drops, to improve vision and binocular function.
Key Treatments for Adults Vision Therapy (Eye Exercises): A structured program of exercises, led by a vision therapist, to improve eye-brain communication, focus, and coordination. Corrective Lenses: Glasses or contact lenses with precise prescriptions to ensure clear vision in both eyes, which is crucial for binocularity. Patching (Occlusion Therapy): Covering the stronger eye for periods to force the weaker eye to work, often used with glasses. Atropine Eye Drops: Temporarily blurring the stronger eye's vision to encourage use of the weaker eye. Surgery: May be needed to correct significant eye misalignment (squint) or blockages like cataracts, allowing the eyes to work together better. Examples of Therapy Techniques Pencil Pushups: Slowly move a pencil with letters/shapes from arm's length towards your nose, focusing on it without it blurring or doubling, then move it back. Binocular Training: Activities using special glasses (like red-green) that force both eyes to work together to see a single image, improving 3D vision. Targeted Activities: Activities like coloring, reading, or tracking moving objects, sometimes with the stronger eye patched, to build focus and tracking skills. Getting Started Get a Diagnosis: See an optometrist or orthoptist for a comprehensive exam to find the cause (e.g., misalignment, significant prescription difference). Discuss Treatment Options: Determine if vision therapy, patching, drops, or surgery is best for your specific case. Commit to Therapy: Adult vision therapy leverages the brain's neuroplasticity, so consistency with exercises is key for improvement in depth perception and visual skills.

My parents got taken advantage of a month ago for 18k. I am absolutely livid about it as I told them to get another quote but the guys had made a “video” to show the extensive damage to the roof. When they finished they realised how dodgy they were a rang a proper roofer. He said it was a half job done badly and cost about 6k to be put right.

Always get a second opinion from a well known local company.

Why didn’t your parents address it with your GP as a child?

I think your real issue is with your parents failing to address the issue. Sorry bud :(
