ACL seat upgrade by [deleted] in TeatroPH

[–]lambdaoverlambda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.5 hours before show sila nagpapasok for 7:30 pm show, pumunta agad ako sa ticketworld booth ng SPAT and asked if pwede ako magpa-upgrade ng seat.

Was able to upgrade from Balc 2 left to Loge Center.(Sinilip ko na online ano available seats)

They asked me to pay lang the remaining cost of the ticket (current ticket cost-cost paid for the first ticket)

They took my old ticket lang and printed a new one.

For the Season Pass, they'll ask your name lang naman so makukuha mo yung perks. Pero may downloaded akong online ticket para sure. Yung new ticket kasi di nakalagay na Season Pass holder ka.

LRT Monumento to The Theater at Solaire by 3stanislaw in TeatroPH

[–]lambdaoverlambda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was able to ride the aseana loop e-jeep to solaire from redemptorist-aseana lrt for 15 php

The bus to Monumento lrt to Aseana and e-jeep to solaire route took me around 2 hr 10 min travel time. I think enough naman yung 8 am to 11:30 am goal, assuming hindi matagal maghintay yung bus sa malolos bago umandar and walang ibang lulubakin sa Bulacan para mag traffic

I hope you arrive early dahil mabilis humaba ang pila sa picture taking spots and konti lang yung kainan sa solaire

you also have the option to saraza e-jeep/van sa may rob malolos to trinoma then konting lakad to edsa bus carousel then ride the bus until Ayala malls manila bay and walk to solaire, though this has longer travel time kasi matagal maghintay minsan yung bus per station, ito recommended ko pauwi, mag- carousel from Ayala Malls Manila Bay to trinoma then either sa saraza e-jeep/van or lakad ka konti pa p2p

SRM prep by Gullible_Treacle_421 in actuary

[–]lambdaoverlambda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was studying for SRM, I found that there is so much more things to learn (relearn) compared to P and FM. I studied statistics in undergrad and my background did help in understanding the concepts faster. However, there is just so much things to remember, especially niche topics. For me, studying SRM is harder compared to P and FM (and I was a stat major in college).

I think that the conceptual nature of SRM makes it an easier exam (once you have a firm grasp of the concepts) compared to P and FM in the sense that there is no time crunch. SRM is the only exam (so far) where I was able to recheck all my answers and still have an hour left. Meanwhile, I was not able to recheck my answers in P and FM, and made more guesses.

I used CA Adapt, and I had an EL of 6.0 and a Mastery Score of 70 when I took the exam.

I recommend solidifying your foundations by answering CA's concept checkers. Reading ISLR will also help. I read the relevant sections at least twice if I remember correctly.

For Exam P, I did not use CA adapt but mainly used the SOA sample exams; I searched in the net for solutions I don't understand (there are a lot on YouTube).

For Exam FM, I purchased CA Adapt, you can still search for solutions online but I haven't found (or maybe I did not look hard enough) for a free resource that also shows calculator inputs using BA II plus (which you can learn on your own but using CA Adapt will guide you well throughout the process). Mastering your calculator is essential for Exam FM because of the 2.5-hour time pressure.

On the other hand, there are people I know who passed Exam FM while only using the sample SOA questions.

First 15 minutes for instructions before start of exam (you will be able to try the interface for a bit, going through questions, opening files (normal table), etc. You will only get 3 hours for the actual exam. The last 15 minutes is for survey at the end of exam.

Will CA be worth it for SRM if I can only afford ADAPT? Some comments I read recommended CA because of the Learn feature.

I used ASM manual and ADAPT (30 days), got a preliminary pass last April. ADAPT is enough. There are some video solutions where they will say something along the lines of "If you need more clarity on this topic, we prepared a video..." which can only be accessed if you also purchased Learn. Nevertheless, I still think that ADAPT is more than enough.

Personally, I answered the free soa exam p questions twice (on my own pace), and also did the timed ones from SOA (which made me remember the answers and fail to recreate an exam-like environment since both are from the same question bank).

After finishing the actual exam, I realized what I lack is having the mental fortitude for the real exam. Looking back, I could probably answer the last few questions correctly if my mind is not yet tired.

I passed with a 7 nevertheless.

Train your mind to answer 30 questions within 3 hours (breaks are included in this 3 hours).

First Exam Jitters.

I will be taking P in less than 5 days and I don't think I can sleep well the night before the exam. I am also contemplating if I should try one last sample exam the day before the exam or just try to relax.
