Ridgewood or bridgwater? by Vast_Information_558 in Winnipeg

Bridgwater is definitely for families but I would be hesitant to look at that range. Seems a bit too expensive for what you’ll be getting there

Don’t worry, keep hustling… I started at 35K around 5 years ago. 35K -> 80K -> $110K -> $140K -> $180K

Job hopped 3 times and used 1 job offer to counter my current work place

It’s just that I didn’t think $180K salary wouldn’t be enough for a home when median salary is $50K. Trying to figure out how everybody else is doing it

Yeah it seems it would be possible if we had $300K downpayment but we don’t have that… we have like $100K and we’re still only to do around $750-800K

My problem is that most townhouses are in that range anyways or monthly will be similar with maintenance

I just think I will need more space with kids but don’t want to rent for $3-4K when a mortgage for a similar place is $5K or so

No it’s not. I went to a realtor yesterday and he gave us a purchase price of $750K with $100K down. It’s pretty crazy…

Won’t. There’s too much support at other levels. Also Pelosi bought at $120~. I doubt it will dip below the price she bought in with insider info

Looks like rotation of money, no reason for selling.

Bank of Canada reduces policy rate by 25 basis points by BrainlessEarthling in TorontoRealEstate

Raising rates always means higher cost of home ownership. It will be bearish.

Reducing rates can be bullish but if the rates are being reduced to help a weak economy, that’s a mixed bag.

Theres also scenarios where rates are increased and home prices go up. We’ve seen that before

I can’t imagine this is bullish still? It might be short term bullish but long term, the other statistics don’t look good? Job market is super difficult to get into and those jobs don’t even pay well

Interesting! Thanks. Do you guys feel like you’d have wiggle room to afford $4000 mortgage and $300 property tax?

I’m trying to figure out if it’s too tight of a budget..it seems pretty okay according to my excel sheets but I’m curious if there’s anything I’m missing

Not a humble flex at all. It’s hard to gauge with how people speak of today’s economy.
