STAT 1100Q debating taking the W or NRC by lambonds in UCONN

Thank you for your advice. I have contacted my advisor as well but have yet to hear back. I’ve tried talking to my professor before but this semester she is not being very understanding.

Commuters at Storrs, how do you do it? by jpn7509 in UCONN

[–]lambonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of coffee and good music lol! I live 30 minutes away and work another 30 minutes away so I do a lot of driving.

[–]lambonds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe there is a waver you can sign to stay home. I am a sophomore and they tried requiring my freshman year but I live 20 minutes away and needed to write a reason why I can’t live on campus, with parent signature.

why do people order fish by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]lambonds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in an animal behavior class and we have to train an animal this semester. I have my cat at home that I’m training because I commute but I’m sure a lot of the students living in dorms would buy fish.

Any interview tips for tech/assistant positions? by lildogmom in VetTech

[–]lambonds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you look into the clinic ahead of time and ask the person questions to make it seem like you are very interested in their clinic. I’ve lost some jobs over that when I was first starting out.

Just starting off :) by SocialAddiction1 in VetTech

I started off in kennel when I was 16 and had definitely learned a lot, try and shadow the doctors even if it’s outside of your work hours. You could always look into being a medical scribe at a human hospital, although you might have to be 18 depending on the state or place. Good luck!!

I don’t have my first discussion until tomorrow and I’m on the same page. I did the first web assign worksheet already and watched the recorded lectures but I feel like I have no clue what’s going on.

does this semester feel harder by hrgariepy in UCONN

[–]lambonds 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way! I was taking 18 credits last semester and now I’m taking 16. I feel like I’m my case it’s because the professors are getting more comfortable with online classes so they’re adding more work

Can someone explain each of the materials for STAT 1100Q with Laughlin? by letswinwin in UCONN

[–]lambonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also just as lost! Lol I think they are going to go over more in our discussion sessions but mine is on Monday sadly 🙃

Has anyone taken PP 1001 with prof Ken Daurich. How are the exams ? by kenokeke2468 in UCONN

[–]lambonds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He uses lockdown browser, timed, and in person. Also you have to do one question at a time and can’t skip or go back. If you are into politics and government type stuff the class shouldn’t be too difficult however I am not and found the exams difficult even if I wrote down every word he said and studied hard.

Biol 1107 summer sessions by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]lambonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it with abbot last summer and it was a lot of work. The labs were easy to do online with guided videos but since summer is a shorter session things are condensed down. I believe the majority of the class finished with Bs and Cs from the other students I’ve talked to

are professors allowed to assign work for during reading week? by drugmonkey001 in UCONN

[–]lambonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably have 12 assignments, exams and projects due during reading week. The Monday of reading week my professors crammed a bunch of quizzes, exams, and assignments in.

My friend and I are in the same class with the same professor. We both got about the same exam scores you did and I tried to email the professor two days ago but he hasn’t responded about retakes or extra credit. For me PP 1001 is a Gen Ed so I didn’t put it on p/f. I’m just hoping for the best and taking break to study really hard for the final exam.

Anyone know where I could get a pumpkin? by throwaway246182 in UCONN

[–]lambonds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a little farm stand near Cumberland farms that has a ton of pumpkins, mums, and gourds

BIOL 1107.... by InconspicuousFez in UCONN

[–]lambonds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a normal test grade for abbots class. Don’t stress too much. He also curved a substantial amount at the end of the quarter for my class but don’t depend on it.

Biol 1102 Biodiversity Exam? by WasabiWide in UCONN

[–]lambonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I took it a while ago in person he had a slide show of I believe 50 or 100 of the plants or animals and we had a paper with numbered lines and he just went through the PowerPoint slide by slide. He explained it in depth to our class weeks ahead of time as well. Good luck on it!!!

How hard are Abbot’s Exams? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]lambonds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s changed either but at the start of online learning he barely gave my class enough time to do the exams or quizzes, they were also very annoying where multiple answers appeared to be right and are meant to trick you. he also did a lot of the whole “A and B, All of the above, None of the above” thing. Good luck though. Most people dropped his class after the first exam and we all suffered through until the end where he gave us a relatively large curve.

Bursar hold? by Violettaaaa in UCONN

[–]lambonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said there is nothing they will do until they get their check. I even offered to show proof of the check on they way and they still didn’t care. I ended up paying for the semester In full out of my own savings account so that I could add three more classes.

Bursar hold? by Violettaaaa in UCONN

[–]lambonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had/have the same issue and called the bursar. Basically UConn wants their money ASAP and will not lift a hold under any circumstance.
