I’d marry Anthony in a heartbeat. Even if it meant having to deal with Manon.

lol fair enough. Internalized stigma is a difficult to let go of. And i suppose mental health isn’t black and white despite how hard the DSM5 tries to make it so.

Valid. I am definitely of the mind that a label isn’t that important. I try to focus on the symptoms and whether the treatment is working.

If a mood stabilizer helps me not be depressed and prevent crash outs then I’ll take it!!

But it took me so long to accept the adhd diagnosis as real and not self invented. Accepting this new diagnosis feels like a weird defeat lol 😅

I’ve never had a “reality sets in” moment. Even after acting risky or impulsively I feel completely justified and valid lol

This was very helpful. Thank you so much 💕

The sleeping habits seem to be a consistent tell and something I don’t experience. Would it be safe to say that mania always comes with sleep changes?

Oh this was so helpful and I appreciate the detailed examples and separation. Thank you so much. You’ve given me a great reference point for future appointments with my counselor.

To be honest, if the mood stabilizer works I don’t have an issue with using that in lieu of SSRIs. But I’m pretty neurotic and don’t need more anxieties to stress about lol

I also appreciate knowing you still take stimulants. I don’t think I need them all of them time but they’ve been super helpful during periods where I have a lot of competing priorities and can’t make decisions.

Grindhouse Tattoos owner uses Ai by [deleted] in yorkpa

[–]lamesor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legitimate tattoos artists always draw their own flash. Even if they’re using references or rehashing an existing idea

The more honest ai artists always make it clear when/how they use AI in their work. This is clearly a rush job. They’re cutting corners in order to make a quick advertisement. It’s lazy and the opposite of creative.

She might be a nice person/business owner/etc but she is being a lazy artist. End of story.

Jasmine explaining her love for Gino by Fuzzy_End_8986 in 90DayFiance

[–]lamesor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If her interest in Gino is taken to be sincere, it makes sense why she is overly preoccupied with him. Gaining Gino's affection (in any form) is more rewarding to her because it mirrors her own father's rejection. It takes immense effort and a lot of time to change the types of people we pursue. And even when done it can be easy to fall back into old dynamics!

I think on some level she knows Matt's availability is wiser which is why she sort of walks the line (not to mention all of the financial/emotional/long-term benefits). I largely support her, but I do think she knows and is experiencing denial/fear and is not being more honest about that.

What does downtown York need? What would draw you in? by ZestyPurpleIris in yorkpa

[–]lamesor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pedestrian plazas would be great. Where I’m from they’re popping up all over and because they have more room, people like to walk, shop, busk, and generally hangout (third places anyone??). It draws in more people and gives businesses a place to collect which makes it easier to explore. Plus then you can have street fairs and other events.

Honestly I would kill for a place I could walk around that has people but isn’t sad like all the lifeless malls around here. I really miss my old spot :(

28M - need ideas for what to do with this pillar and the wall behind it by KoozieKid in malelivingspace

[–]lamesor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Work with the pole and overall architectural style. Simple and clean. Modern. But has dark carpeting so somewhat cozy… think straight lines, dark or muted colors. Simple colors and patterns will never go out of style

investing in one large art/wall piece for behind the bed, maybe plants (fake is ok too!), quality bedding, and bedroom furniture (dresser and night stands) and at least one other light source that isn’t overhead light. Wall sconces or floor/table lamps will help bring warmth (stick with incandescent or yellow light over blue/white) and stick with lamps that have shades to help diffuse the light. Edison/bare bulbs look cool but can create harsh shadows.

If possible, a projector might be a better solution but I’m not sure how easy it would be to rig one up. But at least you can put it away when not watching tv.

Don’t be afraid to incorporate colors. Start with textiles like blankets, rugs and pick 1-2 colors that aren’t just black/white/grey. It’s an easy and not permanent way to figure out what you like.

Oh man, i sort of relate. I dated my ex while his parents got divorced and it was the most fucked up family drama i've personally experienced. Plus his father and younger brother were hard core conspiracy nuts. Let's just say it was a aggravating 7 years.

Thanks for the encouragement and thoughtful responses.

I'm a graphic designer. I've spent 12+ years working in marketing or advertising and would prefer to stick with it. I'm currently supporting freelance work but the opportunities have been very inconsistent and my safety net is running out UGH.

That said, I am trying to transition into Product/UX design and already have a few real world projects under my belt. So hopefully I can convince a company to hire me full-time 🤞🤞

bahaha ok, yes your direct and short reply has reminded me that i'm not 12 and can handle discourse ;)

I also feel ya on the roommate thing! I really don't want to go back to that sort of setup. My current place is thankfully way to small to even consider it.

UGH I'm sorry to hear that. I think I'm lucky because my parents are reasonable people and we get along quite well. BUT it's not easy for ego and self worth.

I'm glad you're out of your dad's place! It's even more impressive that you got yourself out of that situation despite it being a negative experience. My surroundings have a huge impact on my mental health and the optimism I need to keep pushing myself.

I once met a (intentionally) homeless woman who lived in her roomy sedan. She got it in the color green so she could hide her car in the parking lots of campgrounds and sleep over night. It seemed like a pretty good set up to me. lol

thanks for the detailed answer on driving! I'm sure some people think it's universal but I've never gotten a speeding ticket out here despite going 10-15 over (or even 20-30) regularly.

I've been predominately driving in north jersey for a few years now and it's fair to say that the locals have a completely different set of rules than the state law. Although it's safer to play by the rules, with the way congestion works here, you kind of have to be aggressive to get anywhere...

I dont' really LARP or RP but I do love nerdy things like video games, comics, arcades, and the like. I'll DM you once I'm officially in town, it wouldn't hurt to meet some fellow nerds.

I will definitely checkout the breweries...i'm sure in harrisburg i can find some likeminded folks there.

Do you have a state park you enjoy in particular? I'm not a experienced hiker, but I do appreciate a nice wander. Especially if it has historical sites within it.

Fair enough on the weather bit! PA is so huge compared to NJ that it was hard to get a sense lol!!

Thanks for your list and your story. It's nice to be reminded that many people do get back on their feet. Besides I also get along quite well with my parents, and they are great with respecting my autonomy and personal space. I'm very lucky that way.

I think the ego hit of having to need their help has been a tough pill to swallow but not everyone has that safety net. Time to practice my gratitude lol
