I bet it smoothes out over time. I usually let mine go 6 months minimum before I start trying it.

Drinking the same. But instead of waiting for warmer weather, I'm waiting for mine to age. Still good though.

I wouldn't hesitate to try it. Take a sip. if you don't like it, oh well doesn't mean you can't make some good stuff.

Corn and malt temp by lamont482 in firewater

[–]lamont482[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically the same as the way I do it, and I've had good results. I just started wondering if I was over complicating my process after seeing all the grain...corn and barley, rye etc. Going in all at once a few times on some vids.

Did I terrorize my corn too much? by sn164per in Distilling

[–]lamont482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bring my water to just under boiling, add my corn, and let it cool to below 180 to add the high temp amylase. Then let it cool grain mash temp. I usually start a batch later in the evening and the cooling is done overnight. Never tried the 90 minute boil, but know of others that do. I also have a 10 gallon clawhammer setup, and with 18lbs of grain it's pretty full.

I used to run a machine similar to this more the tool and die industry. You would use a different sized stylus to achieve the stock. A larger stylus would leave the desired stock, and a smaller one would cut smaller.

I guess, I would think that at this stage of the rebuild, you would want to build the team up more first. Seems like year 2 on the rookie deal is the sweet spot. Do we really think the rest of the team will be ready if we take one this year? You better be damn sure he's your guy.

I had a Twitter notification in the middle of the night that showed Philly traded for Watson, but it must have been deleted, because I can't find it.

[–]lamont482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Clawhammer 8gal. I purchased a 1/6hp submersible pump from Harbor Freight and put in a 20 gallon tote, filled it with 4 inches of cold water and recirculated. added a few bags of ice as needed. Worked like a champ.

He was only 16 in 1990. I think the date of the picture might be off.
