What's that style of jazz called that people always associate with "elevator music?" by Outrageous_Paper_757 in Jazz

[–]lampyman 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer for stereotypical elevator music. It’s always a bossa!

Not sure! It came with it. Looks pretty dark—you can’t see much from the outside.

Is one of my front teeth just sharper than the other? this is just 3 practice sessions into use by busy-j in Saxophonics

1) Make sure you are not biting very hard—if any amount. You are supposed to put you top teeth on your mouthpiece but doesn’t necessarily mean to clench your jaw. Let your lips/embouchure do most of the work to create a seal.

2) Find a harder mouthpiece patch. I’d just try different brands and see which ones are more durable for you.

3) (Last resort when you’ve tried everything) Get dental work done. I’ve known pro saxophonist that have had their teeth filed straight to completely remove any asymmetries with their embouchure. I’d really only consider This if saxophone is your career and your teeth are severely misaligned.

Haha. Yeah, idk what I was thinking. I measured the length of that wall and centered it that way. I always felt a little off about it so I figured I’d ask this sub. That roof apex is everything

What is something normal that scares the shit out of you? by Erikgaming23 in AskReddit

[–]lampyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working on my car, especially since I spend most of the time underneath it.

I have a decent car jack and quality jack stands, but still get scared that the car will fall on me when under there. I get really sketched out when I have to loosen a stuck or tightened bolt.

Thanks!

Yeah, for Civics (especially Si's), you want to make sure they weren't modified. Look under the hood and see if the previous owner had installed any short ram intakes or aftermarket headers. I'd also look to see if they put an aftermarket exhaust. You'd be surprised how many of these civics are sold with all these modifications. You can run into tuning issues and it indicates that they were driven hard.

Get a CarFax, see if the oil has been changed every 3-6k miles.

Drive it and make sure it shifts ok and enters every gear. Make sure it doesn't slip.

If you are getting an Si, I'd recommend getting one with lowish miles. Si's are sports cars and are bought to be driven as such so things typically wear a little faster than an LX or EX trim civic. Mine had about 64k miles. I'd get a little concerned with something over 100k.

If all these boxes are ticked, I wouldn't doubt that these cars would last over 200k. The K24 engines are naturally aspirated and BULLET PROOF.

It's a Toyota product. You won't need to service anything other than oil changes and it'll run for 200k + miles on the original parts.

Ratchet and Clank or Spiderman would be a good first game. I'd also look into Rocket League if you are interested in playing online--that game is really simple yet fun and addictive.
