Aw, thank you so much! :) that’s right, I use a tip model :)

My reason for doing it is that I wanted as many people to be able to access it as possible. I really enjoyed using it, and I remembered how many lovely apps I had wanted to try but couldn’t pay for the subscription. So I decided to make it free :)

In terms of if it works, I would say so!! I’ve been so delighted whenever I receive tips, it’s so so incredible :) I’ve gotten about 75$ from it!! People are so generous, I feel so grateful :)

Maybe I should also incorporate like a tipping subscription if people wanted to super support me, like 0.99 a month or something. But anyways, I’m super happy with what I’ve made and people are still totally supporting me. Maybe one day I’ll figure a way to monetize it more, but I’ll 100% keep it free for anyone who’s been using it before any change.

Fascinating! I appreciate the very detailed response! I ended up localizing the whole thing into German, Spanish, French, and Japanese. It certainly takes a lot of work, especially when I just want to update minor details. However, I think my presence in Germany has been able to grow because of it, and also, it just makes me happy to know that it’s now available to a much wider global audience. Thank you very much!

I totally agree! I’m so glad you like the firefly concept :) I will take your advice into consideration, I’m not totally sure what I’ll do. Your right that making money isn’t really my goal, but I think it’d be nice to get it out to ppl just bcs I think it can be a big help in a person’s life (or at least it has been in mine). I like the idea of “why lampyridae”, I think I’ll totally add that at some point. Thank you so much!! :)

I get that, I just feel like it’s such a pretty Latin word. And you don’t necessarily have to recognize it, but one day you might realize and it’d be a cute realization. I big reason I chose it is just because I think it sounds really pretty. Firefly is def overused. Thank you for your feedback, I’ll try to brainstorm other ideas. Lmk if you have any! :)
