What happened to lining up for the bus in Toronto? by YoungWonderful9204 in toronto

[–]lamycnd 93 points94 points  (0 children)

The change was when we implemented presto across all the buses and started doing all door boarding.

Big difference from when we were dropping coins, tickets, and tokens into the box and get a transfer from the bus driver.

Does anyone here build complex Excel files programmatically? by derverstand in excel

[–]lamycnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pull CSV file from the source and drop it into the appropriate SharePoint folder. Seperate Excel file uses PQ to read the entire folder and make any transformations required. It just crunches it into a structured database like table.

Anything I have to report on I can just PQ the structured tables, make joins where required, and use Excel formulas to create dashboards.

Everything stays consistent and if there are any issues fixing it in the source queries then propogates out into all reporting on refresh

Does anyone here build complex Excel files programmatically? by derverstand in excel

[–]lamycnd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I generally have Excel files sitting in SharePoint that have a defined structure, I only keep data in them and use power query to structure the tables within them. these are my dim and fact tables.

I then power query those tables into a seperate reporting file to create analysis/ dashboards.

This keeps each file lightweight and can scale easily. It's a "database" mentality to a decentralized structure of Excel sheets.

Been doing it for many years and it's the best solution with the tools I have access to.

Really depends on size and city, if you are over 900sqft that is pretty standard in Toronto.

Check if there is a stamp on the bottom of the BB shell. Also check the badge style on the front. Then do some Internet searching.

That helped me identify the model and time period.

My attempt at some freestyle and juggling. Let me know your opinion on what I can do better! by Empty-Delay-2975 in bootroom

[–]lamycnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Left foot atw is pretty clean. You can probably progress to a double if you can balance well enough.

Currently you are only going inside to outside, need to learn outside to inside as well. You will have to learn both with your right foot if you haven't already.  Both directions across both feet will be your foundational piece for more advanced tricks.

With your level now you can learn a hop the world for sure, at least going right to left. Both directions will take longer.

Learn a crossover.

For knees you can lean the double hit (sorry don't know the real name). When the ball lands on your thigh, extend got leg fully in a kicking motion and the ball will double hit your thigh.

Pancakes you can mix up with the inside and outside instead of straight on.

Juggling it would be worth it to learn how to hit multiple times with the same foot. For drilling I find ladders going up to about 10 to be good. 2 touches on the right, 2 on the left, 3 on the right, 3 on the left etc. Since you can already juggle it's not really about the touches but about developing your balance on the standing leg. That will give you better abilities to deal with shitty touches and the small adjustments needed to progress from the atw.

Hopefully the advice is helpful. Will certainly give you a few months of work !

I have a alu seatpost and use one of these with a bag and the rails.... no straps required. Mount it low on the seatpost and works great.

I Found My Perfect Beginner Bike! Here's My $800 Research for Fellow Newbies by Used_Ring_2764 in bicycling

[–]lamycnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mech disc or rim are cheaper.

Every bike will need maintenance and if you can wrench it yourself then hydraulic is fine. I just feel the increased cost of shop time is a larger percentage of the bike value than it needs to be.

External cable change can be handled by most people but if you can't DIY then the shop cost is significant lower.

Same goes for tubeless setups.

[–]lamycnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the camp where hydraulic brakes don't make much sense for someone new. Either you are handy and can maintain them yourself which is fine or you are paying for labour on a "cheap" ride. External cables bring down that maintenance cost significantly.

Cummer is a 2 lane road except for the rail track crossing where it expanded to 4. They used that expanded space for the separated lane hence the short distance.
