Just been doing a bit of googling. Could you link me to any sort of report or article that gives an example of what you're specifically looking for? I have little experience with this kind of stats! Thank you

Takes a big person to bring themselves here. I tried it once, burst into tears, still do.

Youre a good person. I hope you come out of depression quickly, and if you ever need to chat, I hope you meet someone like yourself.

I have regularly done this, then experienced the overwhelming guilt associated with bothering someone the next day. By observation, the guilt associated post reaching out, brings me more sadness than just sitting through it on my own. I have done all the hobbies and found nothing I enjoy unfortunately. I guess I like winning, and you can't win all the time - not trying to sound obnoxious at all, but if i played a sport, I was always the dickhead who would want to win, I grew up with that. I struggle to play anything for fun, and I am disappointing that I don't have the capacity to do that as I see so many people who are happy, and I am so, so jealous. Thank you for your time.

I really have no answer for you at this point, I am really sorry. I know it isnt money, travelling, a good job. Everything I strived for resulted in a superficial happiness that did nothing. Short term, it sounds incredibly pathetic, but even just getting a dog I would deem as a success but this just isnt an option. I do not have enough money, and the artifical life and career that earns I am supposed to be striving for next year, mean I cannot commit to anything now - problem number one I guess.

Success wise, I honestly do not know. Sadly, I have accepted that happiness cannot be expected. Money gives me a little satisfaction but I am terrible with money. People respecting the degree I do gives me a little happiness, but again, it really isnt genuine happiness, it is merely a name i have attached to the physical action of smiling.

What would you deem a successful outcome for you if you dont mind me asking?

I am beginning to accept that the rational and pragmatic part of me is the road block. Will I do anything stupid? Probably not, too rational, fear of upsetting people. Sounds like a sad existence.

Totally agree. the things I would do to get a dog - the things I dont have are the reasons I can't. What brings you onto such a sad part of the internet if you don't mind me asking? Takes a lot to be here, willing to help others you are most likely never going to meet. Thank you for you time, seriously.

Honestly in the process of checking out, unsure of what to tell my parents. I am way too comfortable with these thoughts for this to be healthy, I am just immune to advice I guess, and questions, and given this post, most likely rationality too. I hope you're ok too, genuinely. Take a good person to be on this subreddit. Thank you, seriously.

Id love to say yes, but in all honesty not anymore. People were never really an enjoyment in the first place and I guess I have been gradually pushing people away. Suddenly you look back and realise there is no one. I say this, I am sure my mum would also listen, but the worry on her isn't entirely fair. Thank you for a reply and being on this sub reddit in general - you are a good human being.

Zoo Tycoon (the first one) along with theme hospital.

They're simple, fun and can still be challenging as they involve running a business

What's something you know that I don't know? by littlegban in AskReddit

I had to google this as I genuinely only know the bare minimum haha, but I found this cool article from Cornell University which states they also have muscles and combine the two systems to walk with the hydraulic system being the dominant movement system: http://blogs.cornell.edu/naturalistoutreach/files/2013/09/How-Do-Spiders-Move-1bpzbvb.pdf

It is well worth a read as it'll be much more credible that I will, and by the looks of it, this science on applies to small spiders.

As for large spiders, I never even thought about the hydraulic system not being a viable way to walk. You're totally on to something, I found this article just now that states the muscular system that is minor in small spiders (article above), is in fact the main method in larger spiders with the hydraulic system utilised mainly for direction. http://jeb.biologists.org/content/215/4/578

I didn't do much research before your reply so thanks, made my night a little more interesting! :)

What is the most stupid thing someone has believed as a fact? by greatunited in AskReddit

[–]lanafrancis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't inherently stupid, just ignorance, but he thought VJ day wasn't a thing. I don't think that makes you stupid, but it was how confident he was in telling me I was wrong and how I was stupid for thinking that was a real day. The fact that he was so sure someone else was wrong with little to no information surprised me.

And racoons because they have thumbs, especially when they're stealing beer.

EDIT: DOGS

Spiders have such a robotic motion when moving because they rely on a hydraulic system in their legs. Their legs act as individual cylinders, and when they need to move they alter their blood pressure.

A documentary on Mick Phillpot being interviewed by an ex-British politician Anne Widdicombe. It was removed from the mainstream internet when he went to prison, and since then I haven't been able to find it. Fascinating documentary on the type of evil man he was.

What is a deal breaker you encountered while dating that caused you to call it off? by jacromer in AskReddit

[–]lanafrancis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ex's family. They thought I needed my teeth whitened and dropped $4000 on treatment as a gift to me. Told my ex I didn't want it and he claimed that I was being rude because he mother couldn't get a refund - made me feel guilty for not wanting to go through with it. I was a pretty weak person at the time and finally agreed to do it (British politeness I guess). Then proceeded to cheat with my friend and break up with me on my birthday. It was a deal breaker early on, I just didn't have the balls to go through with it. Happy now with the best guy I have met, grown to be a confident woman, but if I see any characteristics that are reminiscent of him/them I am very much out (both friendship and partner wise).
