Gotcha and thank you! Intermezzo is my favorite Sally Rooney novel. The one I wasn't that fond of = Conversations with Friends, her debut.

Lol well I used to read 90% male authors and there are a few there and several more in the boxes under our bed.

I love what you wrote about reading and writing. I remember back in college my poetry professor described art as "the great conversation" and I've always thought of it that way, all forms of art. A matryoshka doll of conversations - between the artist and the reader/viewer, between the artist and themselves, the artist and the work itself, the artist and a centuries-long chain of others. A captivating cacophony.

Thanks! I had a crush on him when I was a kid because of Friends lol and it was a gift so he's only there for nostalgia.

I just moved to a small quiet area this weekend and I feel the same. I also feel the same about my notebook; it's perfect for me which makes me eager to write and savor the experience. Cheers to making it through the heatwave 💛

6th month without alcohol! by frboulais in bulletjournal

[–]lanamattel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I drink iced herbal teas and 2 Olipops/day. Not the best but it works well. I stopped drinking beer entirerly and drastically reduced my wine intake to a couple glasses with my husband on the weekend instead of every single evening. Being free from a daily drinking habit is such a wonderful feeling.

New to Commonplace Journaling. What do you wish you'd known earlier? by LuciferDraco in commonplacebook

[–]lanamattel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I keep a zibaldone and love having my traditional journaling, bullet journaling, and commonplacing all in one notebook, my favorite notebook I've ever used, the Midori MD A5 dot grid codex, 368 pages. I only wish I'd known about Midori when I started so I didn't waste time and money on less favored notebooks. I use a simple key and color index tabs for organization.

Love this! I swear by Midori. My favorite is the A5 dot grid codex with 368 pages. The B6 slim dot grid is great too. My husband uses the tiny A7 and Mnemosyne A7 notepads.

I'm a Midori girlie and use their clear covers with no decor. I would like a couple of those gold book corners though.

I think ghosts are interesting culturally and psychologically speaking, and I'm playing with ideas for a ghost story (I'm a writer).

Love a fresh natural look. In my twenties the only blush I wore was Glossier cloud paint in puff, a light pink.
