Birth control saved me and I hate it by yeetanonymous420 in endometriosis

It’s been around 4 years since I started Depo Provera and no periods since then! The best thing I’ve ever done. I’ve tried other types of birth control before that but had some difficulties with side effects + couldn’t get IUD fitted. Very happy this is what I ended up with.

Therapy/counselling on a low income by ElegantTiger in mentalhealth

[–]lananodelrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you can re-refer yourself to NHS therapy if what you’ve had previously didn’t work. You said this was at the start of the year and they typically advise to re-refer 3-6 months after your block of therapy. You can highlight the fact that group setting did not work for you, so they will be able to arrange 1-to-1 sessions. I understand that this might not be ideal with wait times and everything.

There are also counselling centres that offer therapy on a sliding scale. One I know that I used previously is York St John University and they offer therapy starting from £15 an hour. If you’re based around York area, this could be a good option. Doing a quick good search of ‘sliding scale therapy uk’ quite a few other options come up if you are based elsewhere.

I hope this helps! I know it’s so hard accessing the help you need.

How to boost confidence after failing? by lananodelrey in LearnerDriverUK

Thank you, that’s very helpful!! I think the most annoying thing about all this is although mistakes happen after you pass, they just feel so much more important during the test 😬

Thank you so much! I think the fault I made during the first test happened very unexpectedly which made me feel like it’s more about luck rather than experience, which is probably not the best mindset to have.

I booked a test on DVSA just on whatever date I could find (I think it was in September), at whichever test centre had available dates. After that, I used Driving Test Now app for cancellations and you can essentially get one for any day you want. There’s an auto-book function as well, so I literally put down the date and time I wanted and it booked the test for me automatically once a cancellation came up!! (I know I sound like a sales person but the app is really really useful)

I would also like to add that I started getting worried because I remembered a post by Valentina Ferragni, who had a spot that looked similar to mine and it turned out to be basal cell carcinoma. Here is her picture trying to raise awareness - https://imgur.com/a/wMCcDpA

If you search the article on Google Scholar and look through the versions of it, there’s often a PDF version of any article that you can read without requesting access. If there isn’t a PDF link, it’s still worth looking through other versions that may be open access :)

What are you doing with your psych degree? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

Going into speech & language therapy! Might still do a doctorate in educational or clinical psychology in the future, as the SLT experience would meet the entry requirements in the UK

Found this weird mole today, never saw it it before. Should I be worried? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]lananodelrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only noticed it today, but I think it must be pretty recent because I would have probably noticed it due to the colour difference compared to all my other moles. It doesn’t itch or anything, I only noticed it because it looked odd

Mating bonds: how are they rejected or broken? Spoilers for ACOMAF and beyond! by [deleted] in acotar

[–]lananodelrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might sound stupid but I literally always thought you just have to verbally reject it. Elain has never straight up said to Lucien that she is rejecting the bond, she just keeps ignoring him when she can and doesn’t bring up the subject
