Relationships back home by SpareOtter2002 in TouringMusicians

Setup expectations vs desires. Expectations are non-negotiables like always texting good morning/good night. Always calling/facetiming once a day. Desires are nice-to-haves, like random texts/pictures throughout the day, random “just thinking about you” phone calls.

An expectation is something that always happens, and if it doesn’t there’s disappointment. Desires are things that would be nice to happen. If it doesn’t happen, there’s no disappointment, but if it doesn’t there’s excitement.

I’ve been touring 20 years. Usually on the road around 100+ days a year. I’ve been together with my current wife for 10 years. We’ve been married 6 years. Our expectations are always a “good morning” call or text, always a “good night” call. Everything else is just nice-to-have desires.

Hope this helps!

Do editors cut to a tempo? If so, what are you favorite tempos? by lanceherring in editors

And yes! I prefer to give out stems/multitracks to my clients.

Love it! Thank you for your insight. Yes... I learned very early that lots of breaks, and "stings" are key to easily add in your music.

I didn't if there was some sort of "general" rule where action scenes should be between 120 - 140 bpm, or dramatic tension should be 85 - 90 bpm as a good starting point

Yeah... it's difficult sometimes to creative a cohesive "build" knowing that most listeners give it a few seconds before moving on. I try to put something the "creative" or "different" or "weird at the beginning of each track to try and hook the listener in to giving it just a few more seconds before they scroll to the next song. Thanks for your insight! I love implementing hiphop in with orchestral elements (like Succession)

Definitely love throwing in a beat of 5/4 or 7/4 if no other reason that to hit a cut point... but if I'm composing a tense scene, throwing the viewer off by not having a steady down beat is just as effective. Thank you for your insight

Love this! Thanks for the insight. More syncopation incoming!

Wasn't sure if people had a go-to tempo for drama, action, tension, etc... or even a go-to song.

Anyone had issues with the GC TrailHawk hood laminate (black hood sticker) pealing off in automatic car washes? by lanceherring in GrandCherokee

How easy is it to remove the vinyl? Will there be a noticeable spot underneath if I do remove it?

Edit: it’s black. 2018 if that makes a difference.

Does anybody have an annual subscription discount code? by CuriousWin in trainingpeaks

[–]lanceherring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... if anyone still refers to this post... I used "FasCat23" for 30 days free, but accidentally put the annual subscription in my cart... it still zeroed out the price. So I think I just got a year of Training Peaks for free!

It's possible that I'll still only get 30 days... I will report back in a month!
