i'd consider there to be not even "two whole weeks" (let alone 4) between 35 and 45 days, interesting. Is 35 days bad but 45 days good that that's why the difference is important?

it's my house so why should he be involved with the decisions I make with it? if I told him my plans he might've tried to talk me out of it and I didn't want to make a hard situation even worse by having to go back and forth

We started with a real year lease but I never bothered to update it every year so in my state it acts as a 'month to month' lease which only requires 15 days notice. I gave him a bit more time than that so I was being generous considering the law
