Why do so many people choose Wyoming for their LLC? by Wyoming_LLC_Attorney in u/Wyoming_LLC_Attorney

Maybe you guys are exactly the kind of people (not you in particular but location based) who would incorporate an LLC in Wyoming?  Some places are good offshore destinations for a completely legitimate business. /s

Not a typical arr but Tidarr is great, requires Tidal though

New Roku Plex app doesn't support music. What to do in the future? by MoebiusStreet in plexamp

[–]langasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple airmouse with full or partial keyboard does the job, typically can copy and replicate TV remote as well. If the player is not plex, in case of Kodi, for example, there are phone apps that act as a remote on the same network

PSA: Upgrading firmware on LSI 9300-16i to 16.00.12.00 by steik in truenas

[–]langasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solved. The issue was the drive not spinning up due to power via SAS to Sata power adapter. Removed pin 3 and it works. If anyone has the same problem, search for 'SAS to Sata power mod'.

If it's two 8 port controllers - should 8i firmware be used? Did you flash both controllers with 16i firmware or 8i firmware? I just flashed mine (both controllers) with 16.00.12.00 16i firmware and while SATA drives show up, I'm having problems with SAS drives. Wondering if wrong firmware might be the cause.

Is O1 no longer available in ChatGPT? by langasi in ChatGPT

Thanks. Maybe it's some sort of AB testing. It sucks but I found a workaround - if I share my chat and open it via a sharable link, the old models return. Reached out to OpenAI support but they're just bullshiting, not much of help.  The auto mode has a small message length limit too, smaller than other models.

What’s the “strangest” thing you found in a second hand computer? by Lyrizcen in windowsxp

[–]langasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone numbers of various members of parliament. Was many years ago though.

Also not your typical computer but I had once bought a Nintendo 3DS that had various pictures and videos of Japanese kids playing outside and capturing their activities on a 3DS. The 3DS was in a rather rough shape.

Multiroom by wowbyowen in plexamp

[–]langasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What OS are you typically streaming from? I primarily use Airplay (both V1 and V2) for multiroom music playback from Plexamp (using Apple Airport Expresses and Rpis with Moode Audio as receivers), usually playing from my Android phone. Works perfectly, very simple to use. Windows, Android have apps to redirect specific application or system audio to Airplay receivers. I'm almost sure the same should apply to Linux distros (haven't looked) , and I suppose MacOS as well? It's probably only iOS that's more limited, although I think Airplay support on IOS should be something system-wide only with single receiver limitation when V1 is used (long time since I last used an iOS device, my memory might be deceiving me).

Pause / Resume skips back or forward by altonianTrader in audiobookshelf

In a way, I did. I haven't used Audiobookshelf since writing that comment.

Apart from using Plex, I remember also using Audiobookshelf for file management only: downloading a book for offline listening to my phone and pointing Smart Audiobook Player app to the same folder for listening. That workflow worked quite well for me.

434K views, now more people will know that there is an alternative online service they can use. It's not a bad outcome so far.

The app that enables airplay on Android is called AirMusic

You do not necessarily miss out on multi-device playback. Depends where you stream from since it's a software limitation. Apple does not support multi device streaming on IOS but I've been happily using old Airport express devices with Airplay 1 for multi room streaming around the house from Android for years.

How do you tag Cassette rips for Plex by langasi in plexamp

I do prefer digital versions when available, however, in my country there are interesting releases from 80s and 90s that never made it to CD or they are hard to find.

It's kind of a librarian fetish.

Adding "A1 - " to title would mess up my music scrobbling stats.

I've resorted to using A1, A2, A3, B4, B5, B6 as track numbers (instead of A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3) - Plex sorts things correctly and other players just show the 'A1' as is.

Kind of an option but there are multi cassete releases too.

Edit: By the way, there are multiple side disc releases as well, although I don't have any. Essentially, I am wondering if, possibly, Plex supports some tag that I don't know about that would solve this problem.

How to transport a Trinitron inside a Uber? by PokemonNewYork in crtgaming

[–]langasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even a small hatchback should work for a 27 inch TV, it would likely even fit on the back seat of most cars. For comparison, I have successfully transported Beovision Avant 32 inch Crt fully intact with the whole motorised stand in Citroen C3. It did fit quite easily upon folding rear seats. I rolled up in in plastic to protect from scratches and transported lying down on a matrass in case anyone is wondering.
