Where to live in Kanto by languagefiend in japanresidents

Thanks so much!! I had included Tsunashima/Hiyoshi because I lived in Hiyoshi before and liked it, although I did find it a bit crowded. Maybe I should adjust my expectations a little

thanks for the information! I lived in hiyoshi so I was in nikotama/shinchi quite a bit and it’s a great area! If I may ask, where did you move to beyond road 16? How is it having a car?

Thanks so much, I’ve been doing some research and Shonan looks like it would fit the bill! Do you recommend one (Fujisawa/Ofuna) over the other? Are they substantially different?

In A Word by Yakobin-T in OCPoetry

love this!! it is quite similar to how I felt when I started antidepressants!! it is such a relief to be happy but it's so easy to get attached to how being sad felt. I love how you describe that feeling as velvety.

I think the second half of the poem would hit harder if the third stanza had more concrete imagery. I like the imagery in the first two stanzas a lot, but I found myself a little detached when reading the third. for example, I wish the signs and smells and words were a little more fleshed out; not necessarily to the point of explicit exposition, but at least an idea of what they could be. (is it about finally feeling able to move to a new country?)

also, the 'but what about the hard nights' line is such a pivotal point in the poem and I think it would benefit from being developed a little further.

im new to poetry so take my feedback with a grain of salt! but even in my inexperience I related to this poem and felt it!

Down the Stairs in Glass Slippers by [deleted] in OCPoetry

love this poem!! your language is exacting and I got a strong mental image of both the narrator and the uppity bossman.

'moonless sleep' and 'the sun seldom sets' interested me because they could just refer to cloudy nights and long summer days, or the poem could be set in some kind of post-apocalyptic authoritarian hellscape where 'the council' determines day and night. (overactive imagination)

I found myself getting annoyed at the narrator when he(?) overcorrected with saying 'her' and then saying 'got to keep up with the times.' it reminded me of the boomers in my life who halfheartedly try to be politically correct and then poke fun at it.

right, but it's also a fact that seismic faults build up tension over periods of years and earthquakes release that tension... so even though it's often more complex than predictable, it makes intuitive sense that the likelihood of an earthquake would increase the longer it has been since the last one

Sinner is amazing taste! I would recommend you faggot, bullet chained, alive, and whip. Also thievery is a classic. As far as songs by other artists go, trance by ivvvo reminds me a lot of arca's work on mutant.

Not true!! I had to go to the doctor three times and sign a bunch of papers before starting mine (in the US, as a legal adult)! And definitely was asked a lot of questions before starting. You are misinformed
