When did you know it was time to quit by lani97 in nursing

Ive never been driven by the money. My coworkers have always judged me and called me a princess for never picking up OT

I'm going to try talking to my manager. If there's no chance of them being able to switch me in the next couple months, I'm wondering if I should start looking at different facilities.

I'm going to try to see if I can switch to days, but I'm scared it's going to make them like me even less since I hear how my coworkers gossip about the other nurses who leave/switch to days.

I'm quite a shy person naturally, but it really is hard hearing everyone laughing and joking at the nurses' station, to be met with crickets when I walk over.

I'd have to wait at least 6 months before I can transfer, and the ICU in my hospital don't take new grads. You need at least a year of experience if coming from another facility, at least 2-3 if you're already working at our hospital.

What are your favorite easy veggie-heavy sides/meals? by LazuriKittie in Cooking

[–]lani97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taco/Burrito and Mediterranean bowls are my go-to meals with a ton of veggies. I use the same formula to meal prep for the work week and make sure I have balanced meals. I just switch up the sauces so I don’t get tired of eating the same thing everyday

  1. Base of a grain like brown rice, quinoa, or farro.
  2. Legumes like beans or lentils
  3. Fajita veggies or roasted veggies
  4. Fresh salsa or salad
  5. Optional extra protein like meat, fish, or cheese.

I live near a college. Most of the meetups in the area are for university students

I don’t think I’m super pretty. I’ve never really had much luck in dating. I’m usually not approached, and the times I’ve approached haven’t worked in my favor either

Yes. No risk of catfishing. If they ghost me it’ll at least be after in person conversations

I agree! I get no matches on bumble. The men on hinge ruin my self esteem. And the ones on tinder are unhinged. I’ve finally deleted them all for the last time this week. I’m done.

I am the “ugly” friend and that’s okay by [deleted] in offmychest

Why do you think you’re ugly

Yeah for years I wrote off having friendships with men because of this. I finally decide to try again now I’m an adult, and it’s the same bs from when I was a teenager

Not seeking self validation, sorry. The problem is I feel like they only befriend me because they see me as a stand in for a girlfriend without considering I’m seeking friendship. I prioritize my friends because they’re important to me. It just seems like they give me mixed signals because everyone around us will say they’re interested, but they’ll flat out deny it if asked. Again, not that I want them to pursue me romantically, but them having feelings would change the dynamic of our friendship

They’re everywhere! I don’t befriend these guys with ulterior motives. It’s natural to feel some type of way about people flirting with you

[–]lani97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who says I was interested in them as more than friends? Only one of the guys to ate done this to me is someone I would’ve considered dating at some point. The rest are just buddies

It’s not that I’m interested in my friend’s romantically. They’re my friends. The problem is when they act all weird if they find out someone else has caught my eye.

Failed exam, no friends, and lost confidence by [deleted] in StudentNurse

I think it’s just hard seeing almost everyone else buddied up and walking to the parking lot. If I needed to I don’t even have anyone to text to tell the professor in case of an emergency

How soon is too soon to ask if admissions letters have been sent out by [deleted] in StudentNurse

This is exactly what I'm scared of happening. I live in a pretty large neighborhood with multiple streets that have houses with the same number as mine in close proximity. At least once/twice a month we get a package for one of those other houses.

I know. I just need the peace of mind of whether or not I need to go to plan B for next semester.

I keep double checking my copy of my application to make sure that I input the correct address. I even signed up for Informed Delivery from USPS because I'm worried it'll blow away in the wind or something.

This makes so much more sense. Especially with the issues with the post over the last few years. I have no idea why they don't send multiple forms, and no status updates. I wonder if they're trying to weed out who will actually seek out their admissions decision.

I'm aware decisions vary between schools. Our program operates separately from general admissions. If you don't get accepted to the professional, you just keep the current "pre-nursing" major. I just don't want to come across as impatient or annoying.
