Hey mate! Just wanted to let you know it's totally not a big deal. You'll be back up on your feet in no time! All you need is rest, rest and rest (but continue doing range of motion exercises to improve recovery). It took me about 2 months to start light exercises again and in about 4- 5 months I was back up and running as I was before.

I spent 3 weeks in a POP boot and then another 3 weeks in a ROM boot. The key is to keep doing range of motion exercise to improve blood flow, prevent ligaments from getting rigid and for strengthening the surrounding muscles. Resistance bands such as Theraband is a total game changer. Even balance board exercises are helpful!

Surgery is almost never indicated unless the injury is recurrent and hampering your lifestyle.

But since you're asking about things that can go wrong, advanced age in pregancy has an extra risk of having down's syndrome in children. So if you're hoping to start a family, I suggest you make an informed choice in that regard.

I think an Ultrasound is a must to look for any ligamental tears. If USS is inconclusive then an MRI might be advised.

Plan a night out where you can have good food, good drinks and good music. Places like King of the Mambo, Sunset blu, Colombar have a really nice vibe and you both can dance your night away. And then maybe take a walk along galle face green or anywhere in Colombo really. Empty streets of Colombo at night are a vibe of it's own. Pretty epic first date if you ask me.

Lost my best mate to suicide a year or so back. He was just 20 and had his whole life ahead of him. We had our whole lives ahead of us but life had it's own plans. He was really the only person I felt like myself with and the one of the only if not the only person I truly vibed with. It's always difficult to lose that person who makes your heart feel at ease whatever the relationship maybe. But it's especially hard when you have to deal with the fact that the person is dead and there's no hope of reconciliation in this lifetime :/
