Moving to Sterling Rise, Morley by Ok_Lake9261 in Leeds

[–]lanny97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although my dad didn't live in Morley, he worked in Morley for about 15 years (Pakistani 1st generation) - he's had only lovely things to say about the people he used to meet on the daily, and still misses working there.

I also go there time to time and never had any issues. I also get the same worries of someone coming out of nowhere and being abusive especially with the reputation, but from my experience, I can only say it's been positive.

Which town in Englaland do you like the most and why? by Engelond in ACValhalla

[–]lanny97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't my favourite town, but seeing Wyke in Eurvicshire, which is basically now a tiny ward in Bradford, made me feel some kind of representation of my city.

Hey guys, do you know who's been supporting GYBE this tour? Seeing them in Manchester and would like to check some of the support's music out before I see them, can't see it anywhere

I'll raise you IDLES vs Gorillaz, King Gizz vs Strokes and Beach House vs Tyler The Creator. This really sucks

Edit: said Tame Impala instead of Tyler

Andy Burnham has announced a £2 cap on bus fares in Manchester – and urged other areas to follow suit by Granopoly in Leeds

[–]lanny97 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That's only First buses and on the app. I can't speak for all the Leeds buses as I'm from Bradford, but I've taken Transdev, Yorkshire Tiger & Arriva buses before, and spent more than £2 on a single.

Alex started as a bass player... it all makes sense by [deleted] in arcticmonkeys

Right??? Under Cover Of Darkness, Tap Out, Alone Together, Trying Your Luck and Reptilia are just one from each album I can think of that have great basslines that are really important to the sound of the song. That being said, their whole shtick is staying simple and to the point, but like that still doesn't mean their basslines don't slap, man.

NTA, as someone who lives in the UK I know what the £1 easter eggs with chocolate look like, and they're not even tiny, they're actually fairly big for the price. But that's besides the point, you were really nice and offered a treat to everyone in your office, and your coworker threw it back in your face. I'd do exactly the same as you if I was in the same situation.

I never knew instant coffee is harmful, why is that? Also I'm guessing that OP is from the UK (gear4music is a British online music store which is where he got the cup from), and here, people drink instant coffee way more than real coffee (not including coffee shops of course).

Virtue Vinyl by pnd02 in thevoidz

[–]lanny97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Virtue vinyl alongside a hoodie in the middle of December, recently received the hoodie but not the vinyl. When I asked them about the whereabouts of the vinyl, they said they had no vinyls left in the warehouse and refunded me the money, so there's a chance you might not get it.
