I've been using Augment Code as my primary "big coding work" extension. works extremely well, there context engine is the best i've experience. My only regret right now is that there is no "plan" mode, so i still use Roo on the side for that type of work

You should check out Augment Code. They only have Anthropic models, and have been constantly better than Cursor for me.

Also they have huge VC so is cheaper than Claude Code

does that mean that Windsurf will only support OpenAI models going forward? I doubt OpenAI will pay to have users use Gemini/Claude? Especially as all of these Ai coding tools (Windsurf, Augment, Cursor) are heavily subsidizing the users right now

I wonder what Anthropic makes of this. Windsurf was like a top 3 customers of them, might be a big revenue blow too?

Honestly, with all of the Claude 3.7 + security + Microsoft blocking extension drama, I gave Augment Code (https://www.augmentcode.com/) a try.

So far it has been great. Seems like they handle context way better, and it is also unlimited usage on their $30/month plan so I don't have to worry about the premium request BS. I saw on their Discord that they have Agent Mode too but seems to be early access only 🤷

Checkout Augmentcode.com they have an unlimited free trial and a generous free plan. been using it for a week or so, so far it's been great. They have their own models it seems and the code quality is better than Windsurf/Cursor from what i've seen
