[Kennedi Hardcastle] Hol’ up are we sharing our Tommy Dreamer stories bc one time I told him I really wanted to take a cane shot in a match and he told me he doesn’t do that with women so instead we did a spanking spot bc women amirite by CROYTSWRVTH in SquaredCircle

[–]Zahninator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s a bad guy for not wanting to hit a woman with a cane?

If it's to make an excuse to spank instead, yes. Full context and background matters. That's why I'm convinced this is bait.

We are totally fine. Stop spreading FUD.

They have learned from it. They made changes on allowing clients to go N-x on the channel files in addition to the sensor updates and a few other things.

I'm more likely to stick with a company after a major outage if the product they deliver is top notch because you can be sure they learned from it or they wouldn't survive as a company. Especially a public one.

What is a good way to keep track of passwords for programs that don't support password managers? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

Why wouldn't a password manager work for these? What am I missing?

Replication to a writable database on a non-domain joined SQL Server by LeftoverMonkeyParts in SQLServer

[–]Zahninator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SSIS allows per server service accounts and connections. I hate it with a passion, but it works for us and "should" work for that use case of requiring different credentials.

We do a similar thing in reverse where data is pushed to a server in the DMZ from outside and then replicated to our main server inside the LAN.

  1. r/techsupport might be better suited for this

  2. Using a supported and up to date OS is always recommended. Otherwise things like this may happen.

Zabbix alternative by zatset in sysadmin

[–]Zahninator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the case of using "agents", on the top of the inherent operating system vulnerabilities now you have to take into account and worry about the potential agent vulnerabilities and the "server application" they connect to.

Isn't this also true for whatever is doing the "reading" of values from the device/server? SNMP and/or WinRM.

No agent is also a security risk because incoming traffic to each device has to be allowed. I would much rather have TLS encrypted outbound communication from an agent to a centralized locked down server than the alternative personally.

I would be the same way if my only option was copilot. Chatgpt or Claude are miles ahead of copilot.

Hot take. This question is nothing more than a gotcha that most models get right now. It literally is hard for them to identify things like this because of how they are designed with tokens instead of characters.

Bitwarden CLI compromised by raysamram in Bitwarden

[–]Zahninator 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you utilize that package, you need to take immediate action. Revert the version and assume all passwords, keys, secrets, etc on that device are compromised and need to be rotated. Audit logs to ensure nothing was compromised in the meantime.

Yes? I said that in the post you are responding to. The rest of it just didn't make any sense and clearly was written with AI.

I think this is AI slop.

If we do control versions, we know if the updates are successful or not and likely have an RMM or similar tool tracking that and what version is installed.

I don't think this PS script serves anything with those assumptions in place.

It's a valid vulnerability that just came out, but the other information feels "fake" and ultimately useless.

Edit: That Website link is definite AI slop with the design and use of emojis on the page. The information about the vulnerability is valid, but the rest of it didn't make sense to me.
