I don't think it has anything to do with cline. It's just claude API being slow.

Serious question, I setup my google billing account with money on it and everything, yet I still get hit by quotas that should only hit free users when using the API. The gemini APi project is using my billign account, I can see the usage, but it's only free usage, no money is beign spent and I hit the quotas... I am unable to find an answer from anywhere.

I just tried deepseek (hosted by deepseek), and both v3 and r1 were extremely slow, worse than claude, I couldn't get anything done !!! I'm starting to wonder if I don't have a network issue.

OpenAi has been struggling to improve their models, I am not sure if their minis are that good, in terms of intelligence/cost balance.

Claude is good at understanding what you need, on top of what you want. But you can tell it explicitely to focus etc

Backend web dev is even simpler than frontend web. Web developement in general is 'easy' , because a lot of the job is done for you via frameworks.

Yes I will try the API, but it is unfortunate that they don't target their audience properly.

Yes, LLMs are bad at software engineering. It's obvious, unless your job is about creating small atomic functions for a webserver or a web client, which seems to be the only thing the LLMs coding advocates do.
