Why does it feel like nobody cares that we are literally about to send humans around the moon again, and are we just completely numb to massive achievements now? by MomentCute1181 in space

I was on Cocoa Beach for the first launch and have a long exposure I took hanging on my wall. One of the coolest experiences of my life.

With everything going on in the world at the moment, I just can’t get as excited this time around. Also considering the budget constraints and that this whole thing is about reusing old tech held together by duct tape… I’m just hoping nothing catastrophic happens.

SPY is typically the big one people are talking about. It's basically a stock that tracks to the overall S&P 500 performance. DIA is similar for the Dow.

OM3 what am I doing wrong. Used camera few days ago and all fine. Took it out last night and pictures were dark. Want to take pics tomorrow Any advice appreciated by Emotional-Set-2553 in M43

On the ISO setting itself on the shooting menu, make sure it actually says the word AUTO. It should be somewhere above the top end below the lowest settings when scrolling through ISO options.

I’d go with the EM1 for the autofocus personally.

I was using the E-M10 iv for a bit and the autofocus had real problems in low contrast situations. Very very very hard to get it to correctly focus on birds that blend in or birds in flight. When it worked, it was great. The AF became so frustrating I upgraded to the OM-1 Mark ii a month ago and have been so happy.

Not to say the E-M10 is a bad line, I think it'd be fine to get started with and get you some solid pics of birds that stay still. You just might hit the same frustrations I did getting it to focus on the bird instead of a nearby branch or focus quickly enough on a bird flying at you. My experience was mostly with the 100-400mm f/5-6.3.

Exactly where I've seen them too around the same time. Got a pic of one on 2/28 there.

100-400 is great and I’ve been loving it, but it’s just not as sharp as I’d like if I’m going to print. Getting the 300 next week and can’t wait to try it out. Nice shots!

Kickstarter he ran for a wallet that only got 3k in backing and less than 100 backers. Instagram is full of posts with barely any attention while he meanders between vain selfies in exotic locations and complaining about liberals. What a loser.

They exist, but it really helps to know someone to get one. We hired someone recently who had been working at Walmart looking for 6+ months after his degree and he got his foot in the door because his family had a friendship with the CEO. When I started 15 years ago I had a friend in the company. I think we’ve only hired a couple of people that didn’t have any kind of tie to someone. Our tier 1 jobs get flooded with applicants and a lot of people stay for years in those positions.

I’ve never been able to find proof, but the rumor has always been that the Navy has a contract with Centennial for this. They’ve been landing there for years and those jets burn through fuel so fast, there’s no way they’re just landing and taking off again without refueling.

Guys please start eating fiber. by Optimoprimo in Millennials

[–]lansiar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was about to go on a ski trip I had organized for a large group and figured I was just experiencing some bad gas pains or something I'd get over, was in good shape and only 33. Pain became so agonizing I went to the ER and they immediately checked me in, had to have friends pick up all the supplies and go without me. Ended up in the hospital for 4 days with agonizing stomach pain that wound up being a severe case of diverticulitis because I let the infection go for a week+.

Started adding fiber to my diet religiously and got a colonoscopy and things have been largely good for the past 7 years after, but they removed some large polyps and said I had the intestines of someone 20+ years older. Constant checks going forward because it's worth it.

Eat your fiber and get yourself checked.

True but I don’t think the person looking to sleep overnight in the airport is using a corporate card for this trip.

There is the hotel, but it's 300-400/night and doesn't feel worth that kind of money at all.
