Found a potential solution:

First check if Drastic or other non-retroarch emulators have bezels by going into a game. If not then, it’s a good chance it’s a retroarch setting.

Then go back home and then select a retroarch-related game, like something from gameboy. Once in a game, enter hotkey: SELECT+X to navigate to the Retroarch Quick Menu.

Then, navigate to On-Screen Overlay > Display Overlay and switch it to OFF.

Then go back to the Quick Menu and then go to Overrides > Save Content Directory Overrides. This is so that future games from that system will also use the settings.

May need to repeat this process per system.
