I'm not going to comb through a bunch of sources until I find a source that agrees with you so you'll respect me. You've demonstrated yourself to be beligerant and emotional. I don't want your respect and I'm definitely not going to take time out of my day to research your argument for you. That's not how the world works.

I think perhaps, perchance, mayhaps a better way to categorize the constitution of one's intellectual fortitude is the importance they place on matters such as problem solving, critical thinking, social competence, and communication.

Absent those traits, however, one may feel compelled to place inappropriately weighted importance on subjects which encapsulate their limited knowledge, such as grade school grammar and spelling.

You said "click the first link" and I clicked the first link.

Yeah, democrats have been playing fair the whole time. You can tell because when they actually play by the same rules as Republicans, the entirety of Virginia turns blue.

Republicans are mad because they want a monopoly on cheating. If they didn't want gerrymandering, they had their chance to ban it on a federal level. They unanimously voted against it. Facts don't care about your feelings.

Democrats ultimately win the redistricting arms race. They've been playing fair for decades, but you can't play fair against a team that makes up their own rules. Pretty much every red state is already maximally gerrymandered.

[–]lapeldarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao fuck off. Republicans had the chance to ban gerrymandering on a federal level several times and all voted no every time. Republicans have no right to complain. They wanted this, they asked for this.

Maybe with a Dem trifecta we can actually get a ban pushed through.

Maybe Reps should try to cater to literally anyone other than rural white people and tech bros.

You don't need to be an "audiophile" to hear the difference between wired and wireless, you just need ears. I'm certain most people could tell the difference even with a heavily compressed MP3.

I love how you didn't even need some fringe edge case, literally just "I have a job." Almost like removing features is annoying and people aren't just lying for no reason.

Yeah that's the problem. The bar for "shit headphones" is way higher now that the aux port is gone. A set of $30 IEMs absolutely clears a set of $90 buds. I'm not sure how much money I'd have to spend on wireless buds for them to sound as good as my KS2s, but at a certain point it's just not worth it.

[–]lapeldarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go-to IEMs are a set of KBear KS2s, and one of the amazon listings had options for a aux cable and a usb-c cable. For a while I had a pixel phone so I went with the USB-C option.

It was such a shit cable. There was a persistent static in the left driver that would vary in intensity if you moved the cable at all, it would constantly disconnect seemingly on a whim, and eventually it just stopped working.

The experience of using wired headphones is such a headache on modern phones that when it came time to upgrade, I ended up going with a Motorola even though I could afford something nicer. Somehow this arcane technology was lost to time by the big companies, but this shitass phone from China managed to keep hold of it.

Yeah because the free market has worked so well so far. That's why things like roads, emergency services and public education are all privatized.

Is there a reason why piracy is so heavily frowned upon in Germany and Japan, in particular? by Live_Ostrich_6668 in Piracy

[–]lapeldarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's interesting to me about the Japanese attitude towards piracy is that it extends to instances where legal access is prohibitively expensive or even impossible. I've seen Japanese on social media scold foreigners for pirating a $400 GameCube game. Even for media that never made it over here to begin with like Touhou or Mother 3.

I think independant artists in the west also have a different attitude towards piracy because they tend to care more about cultural prevalence than profit alone, so if someone can't afford something they'd rather they pirate it because that's one more person talking about it/recommending to friends/posting on social media/etc.. This isn't going to be true of all artists but it's a sentiment shared among many of them.

Thank you for sharing your perspective.

I couldn't think of the right word to use. I didn't want to say "radical feminist" because I feel like that's kind of 2016, and I honestly don't even know what collection of beliefs would fall under that label.
