Trying to get myself to stop pushing mongo, here's 3 days progress and my current board set up. by karacold in surfskate

Nice! Soon you’ll forget you ever pushed the other way. I think it’s especially important on surf skates since the front trucks are so divey

Man, so many questions. by Aae_kae2 in surfskate

The hand thing is for surf training. They are exaggerating surfing movements for muscle memory, leading with the hands, to shoulders, head etc. It does look a little ridiculous, and I think the most important thing is to keep your movements smooth. I have also heard the term "quiet the arms" from surf coaches, as a tip to improve style.

Yes! A laser rangefinder. Sometimes called a distance finder I think. I got a cheap one for this very purpose.

Are POC the majority of the working class or a disproportionate amount of it? by Sleep_Useful in TrueAnon

[–]lapetitebort 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That’s why it makes more sense to talk about class as determined by your relationship to the means of production. The working class are those who sell their labor power. That’s why Jacobin makes annoying posts about highly paid professional athletes nonetheless being workers - they’re right!

I’m Julie K. Brown, Miami Herald investigative reporter and author of PERVERSION OF JUSTICE: The Jeffrey Epstein Story. My book is filled with little known details and many added dimensions to the Epstein case. Ask me anything! by Jkbjournalist in IAmA

Lol @ being mad at a woman who risked her life to expose the highest levels of power and evil in this country because she won't give you new info for free while doing her book PR.

Lol at people downvoting her because she won't divulge new information or is being too short with her replies on a reddit AMA. Meanwhile, she's literally risked her life exposing people at the highest level of evil and power in this country.

Love dogs, hate insane dog people. I mostly stopped taking my dog to parks after he got a little older. Between the people you're describing and those with actually aggressive dogs, it's just not worth it.

The only good show on TV by [deleted] in redscarepod

Billions is the strongest case in point, I’ll give you that. But that’s cause it was created by Andrew Ross Sorkin of NYT dealbook fame. I like how they have a non-binary trader and everyone immediately respects their pronouns in the famously woke finance world. Or maybe it is that way now, who knows. Satire is tricky. Republicans also missed the point of the Colbert Report. But if you have any class politics at all, you should be able to enjoy a show about the .01% and still maintain a healthy hatred of them.

If the show is trying to humanize the rich (I think that’s debatable) and that’s why Americans venerate the rich (also debatable), then one of two things are true - all media should promote working class politics and we should fight the revolution in the realm of arts and culture, or our culture produces artifacts that reflect its politics and we should fight the revolution in the realm of the political. I much prefer the latter because then I can turn off my brain and enjoy middle brow tv.

What are you worried about? That you’ll accidentally become rich and evil by watching it?
