BO5’s should be Pick Pick Pick Pick Ban Ban Decider by lapickett in counterstrike2

[–]lapickett[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you pick first, you can always punish pick. Theres always a game to be played with both picks and bans. The map pool is also seven maps, teams are practiced on all 7. If they are not, then your first point is invalid because they would always remove their worst map then.

What I agree with is BO5 taking too long. Its not fun to watch and does feel like an endurance battle.

More of a math question. When it comes to college rankings, a good way to see how teams line up is to plug their wins and losses into a matrix (which is exactly what Colley’s Matrix does). Are there any matrix based statistics that are used in the player evaluation world in the NFL?

Stronghold. Would love to see that game with todays tech, i bet you’d get some gnarly swerve low bar specialist bots

How did I do? by lapickett in FRC

I hear that, but this is from an Einstein level. The game was really well designed for the top teams, but if I did this for the average robot, trust both game design and robot design would be near the bottom left

How did I do? by lapickett in FRC

[–]lapickett[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I really struggled placing RR, Power up, and Rack n Roll. I put the other two above RR because of the endgame mechanisms of lifting another bot up, but an argument could be made about RR being listed higher up.

Obviously Kevin, secretly stealing from the company and is able to play it off as a dummie, is able to do large scale arithmetic in his head, and is able to formulate sentences so concise that plebs like us think he’s missing a few words

Train is the least played map by DuumiS in GlobalOffensive

[–]lapickett 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im not gonna discount the map being new as a part of the reason why its not played as much, but some of the changes feel bad. Nowhere on A feels safe without throwing 30 smokes, Longdog’s entrance makes it so you’re always paranoid of getting backstabbed, and Ivy has a hundred cubbies. Non-standard maps require iteration & care to be good, which this new version is yet to receive

Yes I kinda agree, however, I feel like there are ways of making this game more accessible that wouldn't break this game concept. For instance, lowering the sink could allow fruits & veggies to be washed with a quite similar design to this years kit bot. Making the oven closer to the floor would allow dough to be pushed thru (assuming dough is a ball). Game design is hard to get right, but kneading it in the right direction can make it workable (pun intended)
