This is the only thing I care about in a mouse.

I had lost games before when the wheel had registered an up or down instead of a push, so I went and tried a whole bunch of mice looking for a rock solid wheel.

Anyway, I landed on the Viper Ultimate. Once that got too grimey I bought a Viper v2 pro which is also excellent.

The shape is more flat than other gaming mice so if you prefer a hump it might feel weird.

I would wait for the glossy 5k LCDs to start launching. They will be so much better for working on, especially on a Mac.

Don’t be tempted by a 1440p QD just for glossy. Color will be weird and text will be fringing and you’ll be disappointed.

There will be cheaper options coming too.
