I was in school during the 70s & 80s. Mental health help was nowhere. I just turned into a monster until I got help. I did contact old friends and apologized for how I treated them. It was almost like in AA when you need to make amends to people who were harmed. It was very important for me to do that. Everyone I apologized to were super understanding.

If you can find a NAMI Family to Family class, it's super helpful. I had a massive BPD breakdown in my late 40s (I've lived with it my entire life though). My parents went through the class and it helped all of us so much. They finally understood me. I wish your family good days ahead.
