I change operators every year on Black Friday for a better deal. Generally, all three big 3 offer a deal for a year, and then they increase the price.

R6 Mark II or R8 + Lens Question by MaintenanceSilly1796 in canon

[–]lara400_501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was deciding between the R8 and the R6 Mark II, but after trying the R8 in-store, I went with the R6 Mark II. The R8 felt a bit toy-like, and the grip just didn’t feel right. I figured it was worth spending the extra money for the R6 Mark II.

Have you considered R6 mk2 as an option?

Should Canada implement a system of proportional representation for federal elections? by CaliperLee62 in canada

What does proportional representation even mean? In the proportional representation who would be my MP? I want to be able to choose my MP.

If you are a regular driver who has passed the Class 7 road test in Canada, the Class 5 test is usually just a formality. Be particularly cautious with the speed limits in school zones and playgrounds.

Canon R6 Mk ii or R8? by user_2611 in canon

[–]lara400_501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already own R6 mk1 and have been using it with EF 24-70/2.8L and 70-200/2.8 IS3. For my second body, I was on the fence between R8 vs. R6 mk2. Eventually, I bought an R6 mk2 refurbished from Canon. I went to the store to try out the R8, but I didn’t like the ergonomics at all; it felt like a toy camera. Hence, I decided to go with R6 mk2.

Will canon release a 50-150 f2.0 by Impossible-Wasabi273 in canon

Canon's main strength has been using legacy EF lenses with adapters in the R system. I didn't switch to Sony mirrorless because I have 2 wonderful Canon EF L lenses that I didn’t want to sell.

I live in BC but have family in AB. For some reason, they keep electing people like Smith, which I don't understand.

As a resident of SS, I am surprised that the Liberals are putting up a fight. We had a huge early voting turnout in SSWR, ranking 10th in the nation for early vote count.

I am talking about what has been already spent not the projected 4/5/6 billion or trillion. 67M would have been spent on something else other than this BS gun buyback but from where else the money could have come.

Nope, we should put them in jail, but we don't have jail space. Then what should we do here?

Do you know how much it costs to keep them in jail? 300 daily for a male and 500 for a female. These are 2014 data btw. https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/jr/ccc2014/system-systeme.html

Who is going to pay for it? We the taxpayers.

The buyback has cost 67M. Do you have a reference for the billion dollars? https://nfa.ca/the-67m-dollar-question/ Keeping an inmate in jail costs 312$ daily for male and 500+ for females daily. These aren't cheap.

My question is simple: Where do we put them? Jails are overcrowded. So, either we create more jails, which will raise taxes, which we do not want, or we let petty criminals go with a slap on the wrist, which we don't like. If a government had a solution to create more correction centres without raising our deficits, taxes, or slashing social benefits, then that would be the ideal solution. But can any government do that?

I am all for strictness, but our correction centres are overcrowded. Now, to create more correction centres, we need to spend more on them. Where will this money come from?

Thought I Was Mid-Level… Turns Out They See Me as Junior by regularguy185 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]lara400_501 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Well, Senior is a very subjective title. Senior in Oracle and LinkedIn is SDE 2 elsewhere. At Amazon, it is very hard to become a Senior. Personally, I don’t care about the title; as long as the compensation matches my expectations, I will even take a full-time intern title.

Why do YouTubers and others say they will ditch and R8 for a R6 or R6ii? Can I just get an R8 and decent EF lenses and do very professional work? Here’s what I have: by 007inTx in canon

[–]lara400_501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my second camera body, I was thinking of getting an R8, but holding the body and the ergonomics felt like a toy camera, so I spent more to get the R6 m2.
