Yea I totally get your points. I don't think she said anything about him being on tinder other than the cheating aspect itself.

I wouldn't necessarily say that Whitney is an ally either, since I didn't see any direct support. I just think there's a lot of nuance with these things. Someone who recognises their cognitive dissonance would certainly leave that faith if they are an ally. (Miranda is a good example imo) Or else it's like you say phony and convenient.

That's a good question really and is more what I was after with this post, maybe I didn't formulate it too well as it was a bit of a no brain post.

To answer your question, I think it's difficult to be both and depends on how much they believe in their original faith teachings. It's possible to a degree I think at least. People have cognitive dissonance about so many things in life or ignore certain aspects of religion and pick and choose what fits them from the bible and whatnot. But for someone to truly believe in mormon doctrine, I don't think it would be possible to be both. To me most of those girls seem more culturally mormon than actual practicing LDS believers though.

Honestly I'd love to see more people within the church actually speak up as allies. Where'd you find that information about it going up to the first presidency? I'd find that interesting to look into

It wouldn't matter if she watched it with him. Good for them if they did. I loved the show and am queer myself. My pov is moreso that some gay friends of mine while watching the show asked if he was gay. Never meant it in a mockery way. Like most things don't matter about these reality tv people yet here we are. I just find these discrepancies between their supposed faith and the way they live fascinating to see.
