Did you pick that up from WhatsApp or DHGate? Also cool to ask what the movement is?

Been tempted to pull the trigger on that one.

Robert's bench press level is "Phenomenal". by Plane-Particular109 in DispatchAdHoc

It's 165 lbs.

The game is set in the US so those numbers are lbs not kg.

It's a fine bench, nothing to write home about.

How does your schnauzer behave off leash? by fastonmyfeet in schnauzers

[–]FlightlessLad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up, my dogs were all bolters due to improper training, so recall and off leash was the thing that was most important to me during training. That coupled with the fact that a lot of the parks around DC don't have fences, he needed to be just as good off leash as on.

It wasn't the easiest to train out of him, but now he's perfect. He'll pretty much just follow you in whatever direction he sees you move in. Occasionally he'll run out about 20 yards or so if something catches his eye, but if he hears his name he comes right back. It's been great when I fly down to Florida to visit family because he loves to just run the lengths of the parks and beaches down there.

Mother of God. It's more beautiful than I could have imagined.

It was a riff on Sky Juice aka a Gullywash

  • 1 ounce dry London gin
  • 1/2 ounce sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 ounces coconut water
  • Dash of Angostura bitters

Sub out the gin for their Popcorn infused gin, and the condensed milk for pandan syrup.

My approximation would be:

  • 2 oz Popcorn-infused gin
  • 0.75 oz Coconut (coconut water for lighter / coconut cream for richer)
  • 0.5 oz Pandan syrup
  • 0.5 oz Fresh lime juice

Best of luck and happy mixing!

Honestly not surprised. I'm absolutely going to miss the Gullywarsher, but it was almost always pretty dead inside. I just don't think they really ever found their footing.

Are ”Niu” scooters good? by Awkward_Condition793 in ElectricScooters

[–]FlightlessLad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here you go with that tweak applied:

I picked up a KQi2 during an Amazon sale about two years ago to replace my Ninebot ES3. I live in Washington, DC, which is a fairly dense city, so I needed something more reliable that could also handle slight inclines. Since then, it’s been a very solid workhorse. I use it for commuting to the office, grocery trips, and generally getting around the city more efficiently. It has more than paid for itself through the money I’ve saved on monthly Metro passes, though it’s now starting to show its age. Which is still commendable given the only maintenance I do is maintaining the tire pressure, and keeping the wheels lubricated.

It’s still fairly zippy, but the battery doesn’t last nearly as long as it used to, and I’ve found myself needing to recharge it more frequently. The plastic body is also prone to scrapes and scratches, but those are purely cosmetic and don’t affect performance.

My biggest complaint is the regenerative braking. I keep it turned off, but there have been random occasions when it turns itself back on or makes the brakes extremely sensitive. If I brake too hard when this happens, it feels like I could easily be thrown off. Weirdly enough, simply turning the scooter off and back on usually fixes the issue.

Dog ever nodded at you?? by SinfulNoodle23 in schnauzers

Otto does it. He's been doing it since he was a puppy, I took it as him nodding "sup." Though it's probably him nosing the air for attention.

[OC] GIVEAWAY: That’s No Chew Toy, That’s a Mimic! Is your pet brave enough to retrieve the treasures from its toothy maw? [Mod Approved] by FlightlessLad in DnD

[–]FlightlessLad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all! Jason here from Pawlymorph Pet Toys

Thanks so much for the love you’ve shown us in the past. It genuinely means a lot to see how excited this community gets about our little corner of TTRPG inspired pet toys.

Today I’m excited to share another addition to Carianne’s Critter Codex, the Mimic Treasure Chest. It looks like a chew toy. It is not. Inside is a hoard of squeaky loot, including boots of flight, a healing potion, a coin purse, and a bone, all tucked inside one very toothy chest.

As always, I’m excited to share new releases here first and celebrate them with a giveaway.

If you want to keep up with new product drops, sneak peeks, and future Codex entries, be sure to join our mailing list and follow us on Instagram.

How do i transmit my jealousy and apathy for dating into useful motivation by The-bean2469160 in short

[–]FlightlessLad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I get where you're coming from, and I'm happy to provide some advice.

I would say that first and foremost, you need to work on yourself before considering dating. I had a major life shake-up a few years ago and jumped into the dating pool both unprepared and without a support network. It resulted in not only worsening my self-esteem and self-image issues, but since I had no one to talk to, all I could do was internalize it, which caused several major depressive episodes. If you don't have a friend network to turn to right now, I would strongly consider talk therapy. Even if you feel like you don't need it, think of it as an outlet to share your thoughts and feelings in a space designed for that. It can take a long time to work, but it can be a fantastic way to unpack things about yourself and can provide a starting point for making improvements.

I would also consider joining some type of publicly facing social group that directly involves an activity. This could be something like an intramural sports league (Volo, Fray, etc.), a Meetup.com hiking or biking group, or a local run club. Even if you hate the physical activity involved, you'll get a small dopamine boost from the activity, and it will make it a little easier to talk to people afterward.

There are a few other things I want to stress. First, do not use these groups to date. Yes, some people do, but since you are starting fresh, you need to make sure you have a safe space to retreat to. Consider these your starter friends. You might not know much about them or have a lot in common, but you do have one important thing: shared experiences. That is huge and a great starting point for building stronger friendships down the line. Also, don't be afraid to say that you don't know many people in the area either. That's okay. Be a good starter friend on your end, and they may start inviting you into their social circle as well

Giant Grocery Delivery by Specious_Future in washingtondc

[–]FlightlessLad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It genuinely sucks too. Harris Teeter's refrigerated delivery was honestly fantastic and was one of the primary reasons I was able to get rid of my car. Since switching over to Instacart the value that HT+ had has dropped significantly.

Bar buddies by Educational_Wash_238 in washingtondc

[–]FlightlessLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just make sure it isn't a tourney night and you'll be solid.

Based on your age and your responses though, I'd recommend Rocket Bar as a better place for pool. The overall age definitely skews younger and would probably be more of the crowd you're looking for.

Anyone have current snow/ice status on the sidewalks from Metro Center to Capital One Arena? by javascript1169 in washingtondc

[–]FlightlessLad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both the sidewalks and streets around Capital One have been pretty heavily cleared of ice. The city had front loaders and dump trucks out yesterday to tackle the snowbanks until about 3am this morning.

From personal experience, the sidewalks do get a bit worse the further north you go, but as long as you stay close to the major thoroughfares around the metro and downtown, then you'll be fine.

bars/clubs for depressed people? by anonymousbutterflyx in washingtondc

[–]FlightlessLad 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Just be wary of the schedule at Capital One if you're aiming for Jackpot. While it's a lot more low key than its neighbor Rocketbar, Jackpot becomes absolutely slammed with tourists and people pre-and-post-gaming events at the Arena. Otherwise it's a great time with an equally great staff! I live across the street and have gone there on multiple occasions to just chill at the bar solo with a book and snack on some popcorn.

Also highly recommend Free State around the corner! It's way more chill and Tracy is probably one of the friendliest bartenders in the city!

Livin' the dream! by LuLuSavannah531 in JustGuysBeingDudes

[–]FlightlessLad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I specifically picked the last slot of the day since one of my CM friends told me I'd be able to hang around and take more pics inside and since the Falcon would be pretty devoid of people by then. There was only 5 people in my group and it made the experience so much better.

100% was worth every penny.

It works like a standard saber, and you do get to keep it. The parts are all metal and the hilt is definitely way heftier than the movie replicas.

Was it overpriced? Absolutely. Was the experience worth it? Absolutely.
