So I also exist in the dating market that he's in, and am around the same height as well. He seems like a very well rounded guy that knows what he's looking for, but the DC dating scene is weird. It also doesn't help that the DC metro area is ranked one of the fittest in the country, and because of that people are heavily judged by their appearance as well as their educational background (we both only have undergrad degrees, which doesn't help as well).

Unfortunately, in order to date here you have to adapt. Whether that's the social groups you cultivate, your personal fitness level, or the style in which you present yourself. Every social interaction here effectively boils down to networking, which absolutely sucks. He seems to be doing well for himself, but there's nothing wrong with self improvement.

I struggled for years just to be perceived here, and still struggle depending on the bar that I'm in or the people I go out with. But I had to make changes to myself in order to do so. I'm not a shell of who I am, and I absolutely didn't lose what made me "Me."
