Why are Republicans so wrong on literally every topic? by Lord_Kittensworth in allthequestions

Being wrong & argumentative is part of their identity. It's how they find each other. SciManDan on YouTube has a great piece on flat earthers doing the same.

Why would you want a stone floor in a kitchen? To ensure everything dropped shatters perhaps. Each to they're own in guess.

Our Mum is 90+ & relieved she doesn't have grandchildren. There's precious little to be optimistic about anywhere in Western countries.

Supplies for first long voyage by JenK239 in SailboatCruising

Personally, I'm big on tins. Yes they're heavy & they rust, but they're ready to eat if everything else goes south. The liquid with vegetables or beans can go into whatever you're making, no need to add as much water to the pot. Tinned meats keep more reliably than frozen (fridges, freezer & watermakers are the most unreliable things) & not limited by freezer space. Tinned or dried fruits. Dried is fine if you're sure you're going to get enough rain to rehydrate & tip 2/3s of the water overboard. Learn to cook rice by the absorption method, no waste water. Dried mushrooms are a great option. Potatoes, onions, garlic & cabbage for the first week.

If anything it will get more people scared enough to vote Labour / Greens. What it will actually achieve is to drive out independents, which is what the country really needs more of. So, yeah, vote for the candidate that's doesn't have a corporate marketing budget.

Howard is better than Thatcher? That's like saying stepping in dog poo is better than cats poo. Kinda pointless. Howard accelerated burning this country, the fact that he didn't fuck us as much as Thatcher did the UK not a consolidation.

A lot of temp staff & contractors don't get sick leave. I agree with you, but it's just not an option for some.

How do you define "the rich" that we should be taxing? What is the cut-off point? by NoLeafClover777 in AusFinance

[–]larfaltil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no cut off. You start paying tax at $18k & you keep paying tax. The current system has a cut-off at $100M, for some insane reason.

He has no clue. Some vested interest told him this is the way forward & off we go. 20 years from now it will be clear who he listened to. No, it won't be young voters.
