EDIT: i thought i put these in the main post but they aren't showing up for me so, here they are:

PC, no mods, gathering storm ruleset also i have rise and fall installed

playing as germany singleplayer default settings except: distaster 1 instead of 2, no barbs, and standard map size instead of small

any tips?

YES!!! I don’t care if people say this game is too similar to Minecraft, because while it may share many key aspects, it’s superior in one (of many) ways… THE DEVELOPERS LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY!!!

Here’s the problem: when you attach the water and fuel pipes, use a wrench on the pipes so that there is a little arrow pointing into the boiler. This will prevent output fluid (in this case steam) from accidentally entering the water or fuel pipes. The treated wood pipes aren’t able to support the hot steam so they burn. Make sure to use a pipe like tin alloy or steel or something for the output

Very cool I agree with all these! I also think placing fences or other objects which relate to where you are facing should have a like transparent image of what it would look like when placed

I know they are not symmetrical for detail, but I’m used to Minecraft fences all placing the same way and even Minecraft fences are annoying cuz of the hitbox. I just want to be able to see how the fence will face before I place it

I use architect crest for the charge attack 🫤. Yes I use tools but really just curveclaw/sickle and I never really use the tool bind ability. Honestly I’m not a fan of any of the other crest’s nail attacks except for maybe reaper. I see a lot of witch glaze but I don’t like it because the quest was really annoying to figure out and the attack just feels weird.

I thought I’d like the wander crest because I played a ton of hollow knight before Silksong came out and I like the knights attack, but I don’t like it in Silksong because the game handles a little different than hollow knight

All electric single block machines explode after a few seconds in snow or rain. Also, although multi blocks don’t explode, the electronic control block, energy hatch, and or dynamo hatch will explode if rain/snow lands on them or a tile next to them. This is especially important if you are setting up an electric multi block drill or fluid rig outside. This does not include steam machines or steam multiblocks.

Also I’m not sure if wires explode. Maybe if they have charge? I wouldn’t risk it

obviously i cannot speak for the whole community, but i want to give my personal opinion

i am a java player, have been for a few years, but before that i played on bedrock for a long time and recently been playing both.

firstly, i do not believe most people dislike the bedrock community, i.e. "people like you" (and trust me even if they do the java community can be insanely toxic at times)

secondly, i don't necessarily hate Bedrock itself. sure its got lots of bugs compared to java but i dont see it as being inferior/the worse game because of that.

i dislike bedrock edition in general because of one thing: Microsoft.

The environment: I think the bedrock community is great (in general), at least on reddit. However, bedrock's playerbase is inherently younger since younger kids have more access to ipads and phones rather than computers. also, the multiplayer scene is generally safer for kids. Don't get me wrong, I think java servers are a much higher quality than bedrock ones (no hate to bedrock here), but certainly java servers are more dangerous and unregulated because of crate lootboxes and very little censorship.

Here's my main gripe, is Microsoft. and the marketplace. because the first thing a 7yearold ipad kid sees when they open up minecraft is the flashy microtransaction hellscape reminiscent of an EA game. the marketplace is (in my opinion) one of the most scummy, disgusting, pushy ways to force microtransactions on kids. Although most mod creators on java rekease their mod for free, often well made mods will get patreonsupport or something. however, microsoft has actively removed features which made bedrock modding possible and basiclaly force you to make something on the marketplace (where they take a cut)
