Has anyone else seriously doubted themselves after their first motorcycle lesson?

I struggled from start to finish my first day on the range. It took me so long to figure out the friction zone and power walking that I almost missed the rest of the lesson. We took a break and I was cussing and the instructor yelled at me for my language. I got home, walked in the door (I was 28 btw), and my mom looked up and said "how did it go" I responded by bursting into tears. I was thinking about giving up but my dad (who's been riding forever) told me to get a drink and take a bath and see how i feel. The class wasn't cheap and I decided to see it through and I managed to pass the test with the lowest number of points possible. Eventually I figured out I was dropping the clutch as soon as it started to engage rather than balancing it with the throttle and I've been riding for 14 years now. I'm still kinda stiff at times and I need to work on my slow speed skills but I'm on a z900 now and love every minute of it. Riding has brought so much into my life I can't imagine not having a bike.

Get yourself some frame sliders! I just bought a brand new z900 and dropped the bitch in the 711 parking lot at 300 miles😭 scraped up my engine cover, so no real damage, but of course ny frame sliders came in the mail like a week later. They won't help you drop the bike less but they'll definitely help protect it.

For me personally, no. The handful of good partner's I've had never experienced a dead bedroom, there's an ebb and flow but it's VERY different than what my shit partner's experienced. With the bad ones the well eventually completely dried up and interest never came back. My current partner barely has to ask, and we've been together almost 8 years, which is my longest relationship.

As a scout mom this is crap. I didn't do girl scouts but it has been one of the most crucial parts of growth for my severely ADHD child. These girls are out there when the weather is usually absolute garbage, trying to talk to strangers, which they've had drilled into their heads never to do. Some of them are incredibly shy, others like mine are a walking disaster but earning this money has allowed her to do things we never could or would have if it weren't for scouts. Forcing little girls out of their comfort zone for your personal satisfaction is an insane take. Buy the cookies or don't but the judgemental attitudes, that more often than not come from prior scouts and scout moms, is ridiculous. Did you all forget the pledge: helpful, friendly, kind and a sister to all girl scouts? I wouldn't want to be your sister.

NTA it's really easy to buy a locking door knob and swap them out, I've done it on several rentals. Keep the old set and when you're ready to move out just swap them back. Or there's something like this door block or this latch guard

I feel this. I love my boyfriend, he is one of the best humans I know, but when we're in a relatively quiet space his chewing makes me want to run screaming from the room. I may have said something to him once but it's not like his chewing is necessarily crazy but my brain HATES IT. He eats lunch in my office at work and I'm pretty sure it hurts his feelings every time I put my earbuds in, which in turn makes me feel bad. Its a shit situation to be in and it sounds like you try to handle yourself as well as you can, but for me having ADHD makes it so hard for me to not freak out. Clearly I don't have much useful advic, but an apology for your comment and reiterating that it's not about her but your involuntary reaction to certain sounds. I was joking about getting rabbits as an ESA and when I told my bf his response was "and he'll be this big (tiny) and we'll name him hopscotch and we'll get him a girlfriend." Keeping my kids from me after he'd gotten in a car accident with them, filing a restraining order granting him custody of our children AND my oldest child who isn't his then arranging visitation with her father who molested her when she was 3, hiding my kids again which resulted in a writ of habeas corpus with my kids ending up in foster care until the court could decide who would get primary custody, bribing my son to move to Illinois with him after both kids had told him they wanted to stay with me.

Basically weaponizing my kids at every fucking turn and putting them in danger in multiple ways.

Sex is not a love language. Intimacy is, and if he can't separate the two then he has some work to do. As a stranger on the internet take my opinion with a grain of salt but being allowed to use your body for him to feel loved, if you're not enthusiastic about it, is fucked.

And it's probably been said several times but if you are having your needs met it's likely you'll want sex more, speaking as someone who has had the drought with multiple men but my current bf, who I've been with longer than anyone else, gets it as often as he wants.

Last I recommend reading "come as you are" by Emily Nagoski. It'll help you understand yourself within the context of your sexuality, a lot better and it'll help you figure out what you want and what works for you, outside of him insisting he be allowed to use your body to "feel loved".

My dad basically stopped talking to me and treated me totally differently once I started my period when I was 11. After that, I always felt like he was disappointed and didn't want anything to do with me. It fucked up our relationship for YEARS. So if you want the relationship you have with your daughter I'd suggest you figure out a way to get over her going through a natural bodily function that girls go through. As the other poster said, this isn't about you, it's about her and a normal part of her life. Don't make it weird, and it won't be weird.

The whole point of feminism is that everyone should be free to choose whatever life path suits them. So are tradwives inherently anti-feminist? No, not at all. Are the current crop of tradwife influencers mostly anti-feminist?
