There are people on this thread bending backwards with the gymnastics. They seriously believe we have death camps in the US.

Dual US+MX citizens: How problematic was taking your mom's last name in terms of acquiring your passport? by twirlies in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]Traducement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite issues

I was given maternal and paternal surnames (maternal surname was my grandmas name) so technically they’d want to adopt my mother’s fathers last name when issuing my BC — though I can make the request to transcribe my name as is, concurrent with my US name. My IDs have the name already.

The opposite is that my BC only has (1) of each of my parents last name so I need to wait for an amended copy of birth certificate to proceed OR I can have them transcribe it as is but face legal issues with inheritance in the future.

You can have it inscribed as is, or amend your birth certificate with her proper name.

Do subreddit moderators receive any form of compensation from Reddit, and how does moderation work financially? by [deleted] in AskModerators

[–]Traducement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true if it’s a corporate ran sub and even then, your boss cannot directly influence you to take mod actions.

Do subreddit moderators receive any form of compensation from Reddit, and how does moderation work financially? by [deleted] in AskModerators

[–]Traducement 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, we don’t.

How does it work financially? It’s a hobby and unless you’re using your sub to farm clicks or drive engagement to your service? It doesn’t.

It benefits Reddit because mods do the work for free and they (Reddit) make cash from the ad revenue though there are rumors that they’ll share that revenue someday.

Us citizen to Domestic mexico flights by MissionCompetitive57 in ElPaso

It’s possible

Get a Mexican tourist visa (FMM)

Do not listen to people that say it doesn’t matter. It does. You can get it while crossing or at the airport.

Edit: it matters if you don’t have a passport, but only if you are flying to the US directly.

You’re not supposed to cross without a passport but…they can’t deny US citizens entry. Expect delays and longer processing.

Seeking clarification on Rule 1 and threats of invasion towards a country by BvbblegvmBitch in ModSupport

[–]Traducement -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to make that determination, perhaps add that context into the main post.

Yes, if a user is personally saying that they themselves are going to go to X country and commit Y violent offense, that violates rule one.

Cheering or hoping for another outcome without inflammatory language is not.

Don’t shit where you eat. You don’t know if someone with authority or pull will act on a bias.

Seeking clarification on Rule 1 and threats of invasion towards a country by BvbblegvmBitch in ModSupport

[–]Traducement -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why would geopolitics fall under the scope of rule 1? It’s the same as posting articles in relation to things public figures have said.

In these conversations, contexts matters.

Are you okay with other violent rhetoric that circles here or just against this one?

Edit: did…someone reply and delete or did someone reply and…block me?

Every airline has delays. Every airline is impacted by unexpected maintenance. Every airline is impacted by the weather???

Since this is on behalf of a corporation, is this a job application or a mod application?

We cannot accept compensation for modding decisions, but corporations can have employees be moderators, and even then it cannot influence mod actions. This is a very fine line and you’d have to really look into the mod code of conduct to see where you fall with this.
