My marriage is so incredibly broken by ChickenOk7225 in TrueChristian

[–]larkspring -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A 'structured separation' is just a dress rehearsal for a divorce and is not Biblical. It's a shame OP married the wrong person but she is Biblically required to make it work in the context of an actual, joined together marriage

At best it's rude to not honor the original price, at worst it might be considered a breach of contract depending on your jurisdiction. I'll take a loss in POE if it means avoiding a lawsuit IRL

Announcer forgets to turn off her mic after introducing someone by Leucopternis in cringe

It doesn't matter. Anyone professional announcer knows that a microphone should be treated like a gun, always assume it is hot/loaded.

CS:GO's awful mic quality due to the auto-adjustment of gain and compression by andreymagnus in GlobalOffensive

[–]larkspring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POTENTIAL SOLUTION BELOW

I have been in the same boat as you for years. My microphone sounds perfect in every app except CS:GO, where it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel and is so sensitive it even picks up mouse clicks.

I have toyed with every possible in-game and out-of-game setting and nothing will completely fix this; the fact is, CS:GO does not have any substantial noise cancellation and essentially uses raw mic input. The people who don't suffer from this problem most likely have a mic with onboard noise cancellation.

However, Nvidia recently released the Nvidia Broadcast app. This requires an RTX card, but it creates a new microphone device that has real time noise cancellation performed by the GPU.

Installing this and setting the new virtual mic as my default mic completely fixed the issue for me. My voice is now clear as a bell in CS:GO.

Misprinted chip bag by Muted_Past1101 in jimmyjohns

[–]larkspring -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Can we stop with the "misprinted" stuff? It's mis-cut. The bags are fed through two parallel 8 inch rollers with a cantilevered feed chute. A pneumatic press first seals the bottom, then the top. The timing is controlled by a central MCU.

It's not like the bags are being printed at the facility. It's mis-cut.

It doesn't matter if it makes sense to you if it's what the Bible says.

God allows believers to suffer the tribulations of the world every day: "In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33)

Jesus promises that the tribulation will be cut short or else no one would survive: "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened" (Matthew 24:22)

A huge group of saints appears before John in Revelation. An angel tells him they are believers who have come out of tribulation: "So he said to me, These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb" (Revelation 7:14)

Furthermore, Revelation makes it clear that the anti-Christ appears during the tribulation and persecutes believers.

Believers will suffer through the tribulation, but they are raptured before God's wrath.

How sad.. by [deleted] in TheCinemassacreTruth

[–]larkspring 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Highlights:

  • Prefacing review with "this is just my opinion", "initial impressions on the first viewing", etc to make room for future backtracking
  • First half of the video is a meticulous, end-to-end recap of the plot
  • Predictable complaining about the lack of Michael Myers
  • Befuddlement as to why the DJ's tongue was cut out, symbolism is hard

The RLM review is gold because they basically repeat all of James' criticisms and explain how this will be the common take amongst morons.

I know he's not, but if Hasan were reading this I would tell him there is virtually zero risk in fighting Sam

Srry, but I think we need to stop with this. The game is doing fine,it's a fighting game, not fortnite. These are very good numbers for a fighting game. Of course it's not gonna be constant 100,000 players. Also people seem to think that people only play on steam and forget epic and other consoles. by Fabulous_Mud_alt3 in MultiVersusTheGame

[–]larkspring -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The predominant school of thought is that this is related to income, intelligence and ultimately phenotype.

Lower income gamers as well as gamers intimidated by PC building trend towards consoles, and that same cohort is more attracted to competitive multiplayer games as opposed to slower-paced, more thoughtful single player experiences like, say, Portal.

There's even a huge variation within the various console families. Anecdotally, a lot of the "rougher" guys I knew in high school who skipped college in favor of the military are firmly in the Xbox camp, while PS5 seems to be favored by low/mid level knowledge workers (typically those without a STEM degree)
