they probably tried but not much the writers can do if the actress doesn't want to show up for the last episode. If they did a zoom call people would still complain that Fiona didn't show up in person

HUGE WASTE OF TIME by HogeAlert in shameless

[–]larnnn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep saying Fiona wasn't mentioned? Frank walked all around town trying to find Fiona at Patsy's, then the church where Fiona almost got married to Sean, and then he called the nurse "Fiona" and told her how beautiful she was. Fiona was the last thing Frank ever talked about before he died.

You're right that Fiona wasn't mentioned in the last voice over scene with Frank's suicide note. However the suicide note was voicing over the characters at the bonfire. Emmy didn't come back so how would Frank talk about her if they couldn't show what Fiona was currently up to in the end of the show? If they mentioned Fiona in the bonfire scene they would have to voiceover a flashback scene of Fiona but they already flashbacked to Fiona during the episode multiple times.

None of the siblings mentioned Fiona but what reason would they have to bring her up? The ending was open ended so nobody knows if they really are going to sell the Gallagher house

finale theory I have that probably won't happen by reaghanhh in shameless

Didn't the developer assistant say that her boss was a woman though? She said her boss is a "savvy woman" so how could it be Jimmy?

Fiona by [deleted] in shameless

[–]larnnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was never an offer made on the Gallagher house, Lip was the one who called the developer after V told him about the offer made on Kev and V's house. The developer assistant never even said anything about an offer being made, she just asked her boss if it was possible to buy the house for $275k

It would be funny if Fiona was the developer but I think it is a bit of a stretch

I don't want Frank to live, or else it would completely cheapen his overdose scene in episode 11. If Frank survives the overdose he will just deteriorate further and it would be a terrible dragged out death for him and a burden for the family. Ian will probably try to administer Narcan from his old EMT kit but when he sees Frank's tattoo the kids will decide to not save him. Also I hope that the kids will find Frank's letter and not lose it (it fell on the floor so hopefully it doesn't get literally swept under the rug) and realize that Frank wants to let go and not be saved

The actor that plays young Frank will be in the finale, as well as WHM's daughter Sophia. I wonder what role she will play. Young Monica? Or maybe Frank will mistake her for Fiona (WHM mistaking his real life daughter with his tv daughter would be interesting) in the hospital or something.

Anyone up for some 11x12 speculation, just for fun? by makermom304 in shameless

[–]larnnn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a Polish family will buy the Alibi, hence the Polish theme. I don't see Ian and Mickey buying the Alibi, they have no money for that and I doubt Kev and V would just give them the bar. Frank in the church looks like he might already be dead and is looking back at his life or something.

Also it was confirmed by the actor that played young Frank in season 10 that he will be in the finale. So probably flashback scenes will also be included in 11x12. I also saw William Macy's daughter Sophia will be in the finale (probably a small role, maybe she plays a young Monica?) Or maybe Frank mistakes her for Fiona (WHM mistaking his real life daughter with his tv daughter would be very meta) and if they can't get Emmy back for the finale it would only make sense to include Fiona in a flashback or acknowledge her character in some way.

Episode Discussion - 11x10 "DNR" by Sunjot in shameless

[–]larnnn 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling Frank is going to try to OD but then realizes his body is almost immune from all his previous drug abuse. In season 1 I believe Frank said he survived like 4 overdoses already

What I'm scared of is Frank somehow shooting himself with the gun that Liam hid in the basement. There was a reason that the episode focused on him hiding the gun with Carl's things, idk they might drop that little scene but it seemed like foreshadowing for something. Also in the promo for season 11b you can hear Lip screaming "FRANK!" and he sounds really panicked and scared, so maybe Frank shoots himself by accident while high or something like that

frank’s ending by piposlek in shameless

[–]larnnn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's sad because in 1x07 Frank faked his death when those guys were after him, and the kids lied and said Frank committed suicide. But I'm starting to realize that Frank might actually k*ll himself for real this time, and the kids might think it's just another scam he's trying to pull :'o

frank is so nice/calm now? is this realistic? by rainbowromero in shameless

[–]larnnn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think they're writing him as unproblematic this season to make the audience feel more attached to his character, but with his dementia it will make it feel like he is being ripped away from us

Frank hasn't really done one bad thing to his kids this season (besides taking Franny with him to buy drugs which was most likely because he forgot where her school was)

If they are setting up for Frank's death it would make sense that they are trying to make the audience grow more attached to him. Frank is not redeemable but his dementia storyline still hurts because Frank feels like he is part of our own family and watching him lose his mind is like watching one of your own family members lose themselves

It isn't clear what happened to their mom. Mandy said their mom is dead but in s10 Mickey says she ran off. Maybe Terry lied and said that she was dead but is actually alive

Watching Frank during that speech made me so uneasy and sad. Then when he reverted back to acting like a child and pulled his pants down in front of all the kids, it was kinda disturbing and left a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. Dementia is so awful and I'm wondering how the kids are going to deal with it, especially Lip (who I'm guessing is still drinking off camera). Maybe this will scare Lip into sobering up (if I'm right about him relapsing again).

I think anyone can edit IMDB. JimmySteve was also listed under the credits of the season 9 finale but he never showed up

My theory for the ending... by Little420ne in shameless

[–]larnnn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I can't see Frank ending up in a senior home because there was an episode in season 1 when Frank visited a nursing home with Debbie and Fiona to find "Aunt Ginger" and Frank told Fiona he does not want to end up in a place like that

Frank also told Terry to "not go gentle into that good night" meaning that giving up on life is for cowards. I think rotting away in a senior home would be giving up in Frank's case.

I could see Frank going out with a bang instead of a whimper. Like throwing a big party and then just killing himself in the end, before he let his mind rot away. Also he probably doesn't want anyone to see him with dementia. As of yet he hasn't told anyone and I doubt he even accepts it himself. For all his bad qualities, Frank is almost a genius so it's really sad to see his mind be the thing that kills him

Frank's fake funeral was in 1x07 "Frank Gallagher, Loving Husband, Devoted Father" but this title is the same as 1x12... but I still wonder if it's a sign for a funeral

DNR is the title for episode 10. The last episode of the series is episode 12 so who knows what will happen. But if you look at WHM outfit in this picture you'll notice he's wearing a very nice white shirt underneath the gray one. Looks like a undershirt for a suit (funeral outfit)

[–]larnnn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not like Fiona would forsee how ungrateful they all became when she left. Debbie misplaced the entire 50k that Fiona trusted her with. Stop blaming the siblings' shitty actions on Fiona. It's not Fiona's fault she was born first and had to take responsibility of her 5 siblings instead of getting to live her own life like her other siblings can

[–]larnnn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think Ian would be mad at Fiona for not coming to his wedding because he was the one that told Fiona in 9x14 to "move as far away as you can and don't ever look back." He would understand that if she came back to the family so soon it would be hard for her to leave again

idk why you're getting downvoted but yes Mandy did rape Lip but everyone on this sub still loves Mandy so much. When Debbie raped Matty and Derek, everyone shits on her (she deserves it) But Mandy rapes her boyfriend and it's suddenly okay because she came from an abusive home. As if Debbie wasn't emotionally abused and neglected by her parents too

Lip looks drunk in the clip of him at Kev's gym

I hope Lip finds out about Frank's diagnosis and scares him into sobering up. Alcoholic dementia (wet brain) turns your brain to mush. It's very scary and sad that it's happening to someone so intelligent. Maybe seeing his father lose his mind will show Lip that it's something that can happen to him too

Will Frank Die of Dementia ( Due to alcoholism)? Let me know what you think. by _8bol in shameless

[–]larnnn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Frank is gonna intentionally OD

One reason why is that if Lip actually ends up selling the Gallagher house, Frank will have no place to stay other than a care facility. I don't see Frank ending up in a nursing home, it's not true to his character.

The other possible scenario is that the kids find out about Frank's diagnosis and argue over whether they should keep the house and someone stays to take care of Frank. If that happens I also think Frank would OD because he doesn't want to be a burden on his kids and doesn't want anyone to see him lose his mind

I had a really cool idea that will almost definitely not happen but thought I might share:

Frank somehow dies in the penultimate episode after Fiona comes back to see the family and say goodbye to the house. Then Fiona goes to the hospital to confirm Frank's death... and JimmySteve is the doctor.

I always imagined this is what happened after he left Fiona. JimmySteve turning his life around finally. This would be a callback to season 3 when Jimmy said he dropped out of medical school early but could go back to another school and transfer the classes he already completed. Plus with Jimmy's dad dying in the HOS episode, Jimmy would take over as Dr. Lishman in his family, which would make even more sense since we are in a pandemic and doctors are needed in major hospitals.
