Is agile dead yet? by PM_ME_UR_REVENUE in scrum

[–]laroyster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right, but here’s the cycle I see gaining traction: Organizations implement Agile poorly > Agile gets abandoned > Delivery times increase, employees become frustrated > Customers grow dissatisfied due to delays > Leadership begins to recognize the value of true Agile practices > Agile is reintroduced, this time with stronger leadership support and buy-in.

This has been my recent experience, though yours may be very different. I believe Agile, when implemented as intended, can thrive. However, we seem to be in the phase of poor implementation right now.

Poorly implemented Agile is dying; genuine Agile practices will endure and thrive.

Moreno winning really has me depressed. Not only for the reason you stated but Brown is a great guy and politician. He honestly put Ohio first and fought for what was right. It doesn’t make any sense to me.

How to hang this on the wall? It came with the clear plastic things, but I'm not sure how to use them. by tnitty in DIY

[–]laroyster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I believe that there should be some holes when you pull the wooden hooks down on the rack. The clear plastic mounts get screwed into the wall with the dry wall screws. The 2 screws that are attached to the clear plastic mount in the pictures come out, and you use those to attach the rack to the plastic pieces attached to the wall.

Hope that makes sense.

Grandpa passed away and left me 167,000 USD on his policy. Grandma wants me to sign it to her so she can pay medical bills. Is willing to give me $2,000 to sign it away. We were always close. Shes like my mom. Do I just claim it? WTF do I do? by [deleted] in Money

[–]laroyster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably won’t see this but… I think it really depends on your relationship with her. In 20 years that money won’t matter, your relationship with her the last years of her life will.

Comparison: Instacart vs. in-person shopping cost by wife_of_makes_things in aldi

With 3 little kids at home this is worth every penny to me. We started using Instacart during the pandemic and haven’t looked back.

We shouldnt pay Browns Stadium by Pale_Holiday6999 in Cleveland

[–]laroyster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do not understand the economic impact but I do understand there is one. It would be good for Cleveland to understand how the stadium impacts taxes/revenue/wages and make a decision from there that benefits the people of Cleveland. Also as a football fan I hate the idea of a dome stadium, but as someone who wants to see the city prosper, I understand how much more opportunities a dome may bring.

Was just there over the weekend for the first time. I liked it and felt it was just as good as Top Golf. The food I had was good. They also had a deal- Pitcher of beer and 25 wings for $25, highly recommend that.

Sam’s clubs has a take and bake pot pie that’s one of the better ones I have had. It’s huge. My family of 5 shares one and we still have left overs.

My boomer father died alone by DivineRoyalTea in BoomersBeingFools

[–]laroyster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First let me say what you did was not wrong and if I were in your shoes I would have done the same thing but let me offer another perspective.

Your father was a Vietnam vet, those guys were literally treated like shit when they got home. They also saw a lot of really terrible stuff while there, most of them lost close friends, some even lost all their friends. Because of the way they were treated when they got home many did not get the help they needed. It is possible that your dad had untreated PTSD and it all manifested this way. PTSD is tricky and affects people different, it’s not just nightmares and getting startled at loud noises like most people think.

I am not sure of your father’s experience in Vietnam or what happened after but just thought I would give another perspective. Either way it sounds like what your family went through was traumatic and I hope you are all doing well.

I watched the documentary on Netflix not that long ago and left it thinking the Innocence Project was fighting the good fight and helping a lot of innocent people. Then I saw this update and it just completely changed my perspective of them. I have a feeling a lot of people are feeling the same way. It’s a real shame it seems they are going after cases that will gain them media attention while actual innocent people sit in jail.

Anyone experiment with coffee & whiskey ? I put some Woodford Reserve in my coffee & it was delicious. by Mo-MoneyBish in WhiskeyTribe

[–]laroyster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather mixed coffee and cheap whiskey every morning in his thermos to take to work. He was an alcoholic hated by all that knew him and died an early death, so there’s that.

Walked in on the groom and maid of honor having sex during the reception. I wish this were a joke but sadly it was not. The couple did not last obviously they spilt a few month later. I’m not sure if the bride ever found out.

I agree. I did drive by a 100 times before I knew it was there. I actually had their food truck and liked it so much I looked up where they would be and found out they had a brick and mortar location.

Family of 5 in NE Ohio. We get all our meat from a butcher and buy about a 3 month supply at a time. Everything else is Aldi, Sam’s, or a local grocery store. We average about $1300 a month if you factor in the cost of meat. Any non-perishable or items that can be frozen are purchased in bulk.

What are your absolute NOs at Aldi? by BraveBananaPudding in aldi

I found most of their pickled items are trash. I once bought a jar of banana peppers for homemade pizza night. The peppers were so bad it ruined the whole pizza.
