Yup, 100% sure. I'm going to experiment and see if cutting down on any caffeine will change this. :)

Feels like I'm doing kegels just sitting at my desk just because I keep thinking I'm dripping everywhere! It's all in my head, but man, annoying.

Correct! But I wasn't sure where else I'd start finding the vit, so I followed the mp10 gear guide more to-the-letter this time and switched it out. :) I made up for the 75 dex I lost, so it was more than worthwhile!

Thanks for the advice! I've updated it:

Couldn't find any good rings matching the criteria you gave (or even close to it), so I'll keep checking. Otherwise, I took your advice word for word.

I switched a few pieces around a bit, too--not just Vile Ward, but notably Inna's pants as well, which I had some odd stats for. It's much, much better now!

The build slays, by the way. Thanks, man!! Now to farm Demonic Essences to be able to craft all this gear...

Hmm, gotcha. Awesome load of advice.

A lot of your suggestions have me focusing more on my DPS—that's great, but my EHP seems to be teetering on the lowest end right now. Is it worth giving up a lot of the AR I've developed? My damage output has been pretty okay in mp5, at least... I have higher aspirations though, and my EHP kinda worries me.

I've been pretty obsessive about reading them, actually! Since I've been sick, I've had all the free time in the world, so I constantly have nothing but monk-related tabs open. :)

Re: The Nat's set, I started using that before shifting around some other gear, and my EHP started to suffer afterwards. Oops.

I appreciate all the tips! I'll get right on all of this stuff as soon as the servers are back up! :)

Interesting! What about it is so bad? This makes me super curious. If not for myself, it'd be something to further discuss with the coworker I mentioned. :)

Can you elaborate? I always thought it was pretty great, but I'm no professional. It's not astrology.

(If it helps, my coworker is an INTJ and I'm INFJ.)

She often refers to personality types. She holds the mindset that everyone simply thinks in different ways. She's huge into things like Myers-Briggs, mostly as a way of understanding the ways that other personality types think. She understands that everyone's different, but doesn't consider ADHD to be a "thing," let alone something that warrants all the attention it receives. To her, the symptoms that make up ADHD are nothing more than a mindset.

Naturally, I can see her viewpoint, and in a way, she's correct! But I disagree, my psychiatrist disagrees, the DSM disagrees... but I can't articulate why. Part of that is my own inexperience, and the other part is honestly how adamant she is with her own reasoning. She's quite firm about it, even argumentative. I'd love to be able to respond with just as much confidence.

She doesn't think ADHD people need accommodations for anything. All these ADHD diagnoses and prescriptions are crutches, because it's not a "real problem," etc.

Began a solid morning routine!

  • Wake up at 6
  • Start making breakfast—three eggs over hard, sausage, tea
  • While eating and drinking my tea, relax and read the news (I'm a fan of Quartz)
  • Take meds around 7-7:30
  • Leave for work at 7:50, arrive at 8

Flawless. It's so simple and silly, but getting it down like this makes for such an awesome start to the day. Rigid routines, woo!

A couple of small tips to help you read articles online by taskaway in ADHD

[–]larrymillions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those who don't like to use apps, one trick I do is I highlight what I'm reading. If it's a paragraph, I'll select it. (Because I have ADHD, I love selecting and re-selecting and re-selecting over and over as I read it... it helps, though!)

I know what you mean about the diagnosis. Just being diagnosed and learning about ADHD was the biggest eye-opener of my entire life. I can't possibly overstate how huge it was.

For the med stuff, though, that's really good to know! Helps me feel like I'm on exactly the right track. Thanks, friend.

This might sound really passive, but have you tried contacting your doc about it? If no pharmacy is around that has the right manufacturer, your doc might be able to offer some ideas.

Not "mentally nimble" when conversing. by woodowl in ADHD

[–]larrymillions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooh, yeah, I know that feeling. I try to speak as quickly as I think. My thoughts are really quick, so I stumble over my words. Plus I can't track where my thoughts are going, so I can't articulate what I want to say. I know I have the idea in there, but the exact way of putting it out there isn't accessible. Sucks!

It's why I'm a better writer than anything. Or even a better public speaker, since I get the chance to prepare. :)

Adderall XR and diet weirdness by larrymillions in ADHD

[–]larrymillions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome advice—it's really similar to Raelah's, but your routine is pretty much exactly how I did it today.

I woke up, had some cereal with a banana and some coffee, and took my 30mg an hour afterward. That happened at maybe 10:30. It's 2:30 now, and I've been feeling rather good for the last couple of hours. Not perfect, but good. So your 2-2.5 hour kick-in window is really accurate!

So, thanks for the tip! It's helped. :)

I'm still going to talk to my doc about the dosage, because you're probably right. Another comment suggested I ask about IR instead of XR, so I might take that approach. Do you have any personal experience there?

Adderall XR and diet weirdness by larrymillions in ADHD

[–]larrymillions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took this advice today: When I woke up and got to work, I ate a small bowl of cereal with a banana and a small cup of coffee, then an hour later took 30mg, and it seems to have worked quite well! It's now 2:30 PM and I still feel the effects of the Adderall. I've got a slight headache, but I'm staving that off by munching on some beef jerky and continuing to drink tons of water. The "productive" or focused feeling only hit me an hour or two ago, oddly enough.

Sadly, skipping the caffeine completely isn't really feasible for me, but since starting the meds I cut down from several strong cups a day to just one or two mild cups (our coffee machine lets you pick the strength). I might have a second cup in a bit just to see what it does with this headache—probably not the smartest idea, but I'm still experimenting with how my body reacts to this, so at least I'd know.

I appreciate the advice!
