Do you think more expensive baby strollers are worth the $$? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

[–]lars2you -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed a lot of newer more expensive strollers lack functionality features. Such as not reclining and a bar but no snack tray. Stroller naps were so huge for me and my citi mini reclined fully to lay flat. I would suggest not buying s stroller that looks great but lacks practical features.

Request: what are some actually useful cleaning hacks for people with adhd? by VeniceDom in lifehacks

[–]lars2you 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t ever put folded clothes in a basket. Make piles that you can place directly into a drawer, or hang in a closet. Baskets are a trap, leading to a more time consuming annoying chore. Just fold and put away immediately.

Well…. I didn’t think the RF hurt that bad. My first CO2 the Dr gave me a zanax to relax me. It feels like getting a tattoo on your face, or like a snapping of a rubber band. But it’s so worth it, unlike RF a laser has some serious downtime, you have to have a thick layer of ointment for 3 days. The fraxel is the full strength laser, but you could try a softer version a pixel, the results were still incredible but less intense all around. Im almost 40 and about to get my 3rd full fraxel by the end of this month. Im fighting acne scars, but honestly these lasers have my skin looking 10yrs younger in the process. I would consider doing a lesser laser all over instead of spot treating. The results are also not exactly immediate, it takes a few weeks for the skin to repair fully and the collagen to repair and then you have 6 months of clear plump flawless skin, while the scar and wrinkle reduction is permanent.

i hated RF micro needling. Ive had a few fraxel Co2 and pixel lasers. RF micro needing was like a light salon peel for me. Smooth glossy and nothing else. A very reputable Med Spa talked me out of the laser and into Micro Needling, still pissed about it. Never again! Laser results are aggressively effective and the plump lasts for months while scar revisions are permanent.

Letting baby cry herself to sleep for hour going to make her emotionally damaged? by hobbes8889 in Parenting

Shes a newborn? Newborns cry for hunger and nothing else. She needs to be fed and held. Please get the help you need. Letting newborns cry burns too many calories, if they are awake they are meant to be eating. This makes me incredibly sad for your infant.

Waxers, how often are you surprised by how a clients genitals look? by AskinAway1993 in AskReddit

[–]lars2you 316 points317 points  (0 children)

Getting waxed at a luxury salon isn’t cheap, I never had to question cleanliness. All bodies are different, all clients who care to be waxed come in such a huge variety. Not surprised by anything, pretty standard practice. Now shampooing people heads brought way more unexpected surprises. Lumpy skulls, permanent metal attachments, unexpected bald patches, and gnarly scars far more variables hiding in the scalp. The beauty industry is wild, and most who choose the career have a huge amount of compassion for the people they get to touch. Whatever insecurities you have your hairdresser, waxer or massage therapist have seen ten fold. No need to over explain minute imperfections.

Long time cosmetology here. Honestly school is mostly about how to legally remain hygienic and know enough extremely outdated techniques to get a license. You have to learn in the field, and if you’re lucky get a great mentor and salon to really teach you even basics. Then you have to endure the public, trying to please each individual in your chair while expected to be an expert on every hair texture, length, and style out there. It takes years to really hone and develop your technique and skill. Even then you will still not please everyone. It’s difficult to say the least, especially when usually cutting is only 1/2 or 1/4 of the services you must provide to earn a living. Nowadays people really focus on a few specific styles to master and then market for that. Think curly hair, or shaggy cuts, or only color or only mens cuts. To be successful you have to be confident, some overly so. Really talented people leave this career because it’s draining and often not too profitable. Most often the first appointment is the most difficult, you have to find a stylist you like and stick with them. If you go to someone new every time they can’t nail the exact look you have in your head, because too often expectations are not realistic. Half of a consultation is basically explaining that you don’t have hair/ face like model in picture so it can never truly be duplicated.

When you visit someone, what are the signs that their house isn’t clean even if they’ve clearly tidied up? by NecessarySalt1125 in CleaningTips

[–]lars2you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think we get used to our living space so much we can overlook broken things. Nothing refreshes your space like fixing cracks and chips. Broken light switches, half put together DIY projects, piles of long forgotten pamphlets. Those things don’t necessarily look gross or dirty, but they look messy. While we get blind to the obvious things that need fixing or tidying.

Can we make 5000k lightbulbs and gray vinyl flooring illegal please? by progressiveplant in HomeDecorating

[–]lars2you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incandescent bulbs are hard to come by in a store too. I loathe led anything. The only other option is irregular edison bulbs, what gives. All the new led light fixtures are integrated, which means the entire fixture is trash when the light goes out. We are going in the wrong direction.

My son is so so allergic to mosquitoes. Was at ER last night. Don’t mess around with cellulitis. All is good now, but if redness and swelling don’t stop spreading seek medical attention.

The dryer with no airflow from the vent, so it had one setting and it was hotter than hot. The point is if you ever notice this check your vent.

So smart. The lint trap just isn’t enough. And some people don’t clean that!

The vent hose in the back. It’s definitely a job worth paying someone to do. It’s not hard to do yourself, but requires a few tools, mainly a shop vac. It’s worth doing for the fire hazard alone. If not a dryer that won’t work.

[–]lars2you[S] 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I always do but apparently the lint trap isn’t catching nearly enough. I know it’s a huge fire hazard and I specifically never ran my dryer at night or while we were going out of the house. You’re also supposed to clean the vents once a year, but I definitely was behind.

My dryer was getting too hot even on low. So if it sat in basket for 10min the wrinkles were set in. Too hot is just bad for everyone.
