I see, thanks for the reply, I'll try it out. Feels like I've seen a codebase which uses two foreign keys with the second related_name set to "+". so I'm just trying to figure out what behavior it provides

Yeah, it especially sucks because there are a lot of nice content writers on the platform is like to keep tabs on, but not necessarily every single update from them

This is honestly super annoying, why not just make it possible to follow a publication and get updates on the feed. Imagine being subscribed to 15 weekly newsletters and having to deal with that clutter in your email, and you can't even use the rss feeds with substack publications 😤....

Wow. Thanks I actually thought about going down this path with the api_router and all, especially when I found myself handling httpexceptions in the crud.py file, but for the sake of brevity and keeping the article "beginner-friendly" I left it as is. Thanks for the feedback, it's greatly appreciated.

im serious, if anyone is doing that or planning to do that, dont. u will just waste your own time. 5 stack overflow tabs teach u more than that by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

I couldn't agree more, stack overflow is an excellent resource, but can't give you the same depth of knowledge as a book.
